Since its founding in 1872, Scheidt & Bachmann has

We take development one step further
At Scheidt & Bachmann, it is our tradition to plan our
company’s development so that it is both consistent and
long term. Since our early beginnings as a mechanical
engineering company, we have made significant targeted
investments in the continuous training of our employees
and in highly developed state-of-the-art production
technology. From manufacturing of level crossings, signal
boxes and signalling systems for railways, the company
expanded in the 1930s to the construction of fuel pumps.
Since the 1960s the company has been developing and
delivering access control systems for multi-storey car parks,
swimming pools and leisure facilities. The trend towards
automated fare collection systems at the end of the 1970s
led to the forming of the company’s fourth division, of fare
collection systems. Systematic driving forward of innovative
processes and continuous improvement has enabled
Scheidt & Bachmann to evolve into a global leader in its
chosen fields. The result is that our system solutions meet all
international standards. Also by adopting a modular systems
architecture the Scheidt & Bachmann customer has piece
of mind that their investment is future-proof to meet the
standards of the future.

Along with basic fuel pumps for just one
or two fuel types, we offer modern fuel
pumps with integrated multimedia
touch screens and card payment
terminals. Regardless of whether the
petrol station has a shop or is operated
totally unmanned, our petrol station
management system (TMS 30) ensures
that the petrol station is kept running,
24/7.
The system controls all fuelling points
and payment terminals at the petrol
station as well as the POS system. All fuel
data and information on shop sales are
collected in the system and made
available for evaluation and daily
reconciliation. Moreover, our Network
Management System (NMS) makes it
possible to monitor and control entire
networks from a central offi ce. Extensive
reporting functions support the planning
and optimisation of business processes.

Vapour recovery
For countries where Stage II vapour
recovery and/or vapour recovery
monitoring is statutory, this can be
factory fi tted, we can also supply retro-
fi tting kits for all Scheidt & Bachmann
dispensers already in the fi eld.
Automatic temperature compensation
Optimisation of costs by means of
automatic temperature compensation.
With this technology the sold amount
of fuel is calculated at the standard
temperature of 15°C. This way it is
guaranteed that the quantities of fuel
purchased and sold at your petrol
station are the same. This prevents
losses caused by variations in
temperatures especially during the
colder seasons of the year. Your wet-
stock business remains transparent
and clear to you at all times.

Managing and controlling cash presents
many challenges for retailers. Security
and accuracy are two of the biggest
issues - this is why we have developed
a direct interface to a cash recycler
system from the TMS 30 system. This
device counts cash in and out securely
storing all cash transactions in a high
security safe that staff have no access
to. All data is stored in the TMS 30
system and all cash is accurately
managed eliminating cash differences
and significantly removing security risks.

unsupervised station, the safety and

Remote monitoring
To be able to monitor the status of
the systems at your station, we have
connected them to our network
control system, which supervises your
stations remotely. This ensures that any
issues are detected proactively and that
preventative action is taken. Remote
monitoring also allows us to service
the system and update as necessary.

Utilising our Sign of Life concept, stations
are monitored for activity via signal
checks. If no response is received, a
service request is triggered automatically.
A direct message is sent to our technicians
so they can investigate and resolve any
issues promptly. The process is
completely automated against
pre-defi ned service level agreements.

intuitively and confi dently without
the assistance of station staff. The
multimedia system provides guidance
and support in multi-language if
required. Daylight compatible TFT touch
screens guide the customer through
the fuelling process step by step. To

payment transactions, all utilised card
processing systems are in compliance

Our terminals do of course accept all
standard ISO compliant card types.
Our systems also make the retrofi tting

developed our Promotion Suite – a
solution that will take the pain out
of the process. Simply plan your
promotions in the TMS 30 system or
centrally from the NMS. The system will
automatically distribute the promotion
to all of your selected stations. The
local system will subsequently store the
latest prices for the promotional period.
The information is automatically sent to
PromotionSales & Marketing promotions as easy as 1, 2, 3
the connected displays and shown
throughout the duration of the
promotion.
Variable options
Your customers will see your advertising
message on the multimedia display of
the pump as well as on the promotion
screens in the shop. Regardless of how
many displays you decide to connect,
your advertising message is positioned
in a prime position at the customer’s
eye level. The fuelling data and the
customer display are fully integrated
into the design of the displays. This
means the customer has full view of
the promotion throughout the fuelling
process.

now integrated into the management

Network surveillance / alarm
management for early detection
The fully automated surveillance of
all installed systems is an important
tool that helps safeguard your systems
availability and guarantee uptime. Any
issues notifi ed from your system, a
message is sent to our network control
server within seconds. A tracked ticket
is automatically generated and sent to
our help desk, who will investigate the
nature of the notifi cation. The early
detection makes it possible to
eliminate any issues proactively,
without impacting on operations.
If an issue cannot be resolved as a
result of this remote intervention, a
work order is immediately generated,
which is sent directly to our technician’s
mobile device. Alarms sent from pumps
and other forecourt devices are also
recorded and can be transferred to
other contractors.

All required software updates are
distributed through our download
server. On occasion, this happens
overnight. Depending on the type
and scope of the update, manual
interventions are not required. This
means there is no impact on daily
operations.
