MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN OF THE BRISBANE RACING CLUB2010 brings to life the Brisbane Racing Club’s first Carnival and it is with great excitement I look forward to this year’s events. Across five consecutive Saturdays from May 15 to June 12, Australia’s premium racing will be played out in Brisbane at Eagle Farm and Doomben. Complimenting the racing is an array of events to keep the social calendar in overdrive.

With a total of 31 Black Type or Group races including the BTC Cup, Doomben Cup, the Carlton Draught Doomben 10,000, Treasury Casino Qld Oaks, the Channel Seven Queensland Derby, the Australian Special Metals Brisbane Cup and Brisbane’s racing Grand Final – the AAMI Stradbroke – you are guaranteed to see Australasia’s finest thoroughbreds in action. More than 50,000 racing fans will attend the five glamour racing events to see the blockbuster races and stars of the turf.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome our new carnival partners Channel Seven and Coca-Cola Amatil. Our Club also wishes to thank our long term partners Carlton Draught, Treasury Casino & Hotel and AAMI. Without these partners the carnival would certainly not be the success we anticipate.

Unlike any other sporting code we follow, the magnificent thoroughbreds are not the only players on the field. The jockeys who ride them are also our heroes with many fans admiring racing idols such as Glenn Boss, Corey Brown or Shane Scriven over horses such as Apache Cat or Takeover Target.

Racing’s best trainers are always in attendance at the Brisbane Racing Carnival including Bart Cummings, Gai Waterhouse and Lee Freedman. The last two Melbourne Cup winners Viewed and Shocking have also emerged from our carnival. Will there be a third this year?

Whatever your fancy, I encourage you to book your corporate package to be part of the winning energy and heart-pumping anticipation at the track. We have many corporate hospitality options available to suit your client entertaining needs.

I hope you enjoy the Brisbane Racing Carnival in 2010 and I look forward to seeing you at the track!

KEVIN DIXON CHAIRMAN BRISBANE RACING CLUB LTD

MESSAGE FROM CHANNEL 7 The Seven Network has a long history of supporting thoroughbred racing in Australia, with an outstanding example being the Spring Racing Carnival in Melbourne.

Seven Brisbane is both proud and excited to be the naming rights sponsor of the Brisbane Racing Carnival in 2010. This Carnival has always been an iconic event in Queensland and for that matter, Australia. It will be particularly significant in 2010 as the first Brisbane Racing Carnival under the aegis of the new Brisbane Racing Club.

As well as being the leading broadcaster across Australia and in Queensland, Seven is always striving to become involved in events of great significance to the local community and the Brisbane Racing Carnival is one such event.

As a key component of our sponsorship, Seven will be providing free-to-air coverage of the Channel Seven Queensland Derby and the AAMI Stradbroke. Such coverage will assist in bringing these prestigious and historic races to an increased number of Queenslanders.

2010 is an exciting year for Queensland racing and Seven will be striving to enhance what promises to be a wonderful carnival of thoroughbred racing.
