Supervision, ascending and descending traceability for 4 production lines performed by ACTEMIUM I2A

With its experienced team of 40 employees ACTEMIUM I2A is integrated into the European network of SMEs belonging to the VINCI group, which pools all its expertise to assist its clients at a local as well as national or even international level.

The ACTEMIUM network generates a turnover of 640 million Euros and comprises 120 companies in 15 countries of the world, which include 5000 engineers, technicians and installers working in all sectors of the industry.

General information

No matter if they act as consultants or develop turnkey solutions, ACTEMIUM I2A teams have strong skills in engineering and a thorough understanding of their end clients’ processes.

They work in different fields and, in particular, specialize in the following areas:

Detailed studies on the basis of the PCF Process (Process Classification Framework)

Functional analysis

Development / adaptation of traceability tools

Monitoring / control

On-site integration

Tests et start-up support

Training for client’s personnel

Project origin

Having carried out numerous COOX monitoring, supervision and MES projects mainly in the pastry and bakery sectors, over the years ACTEMIUM I2A has become a Premier Certified Partner of ORDINAL Software.

To meet its clients’ needs at a BRIDOR site (a group employing 650 people and specializing in production of bread and bakery products with a turnover of 740 million Euros) ACTEMIUM I2A has chosen the COOX platform and many of its modules for supervision and traceability of its four production lines (from raw materials to making dough) at the plant located in Servon sur Vilaine.

Located in Vaulx en Velin in the Rhône-Alpes region, ACTEMIUM I2A is an expert in software solutions for food processing industries in the area.

It integrates software solutions for electricity, instrumentation, industrial computing, automation, robotics and management of food processing projects and its know-how also extends to the dairy, cheese, bread and bakery, bottled water, soft drinks, chocolate, precooked dishes, fresh and salt meat sectors as well as to raw materials transportation.

COOX application

The application includes 2 servers, 2 workstations in the shop and two workstations in the laboratory. The following modules are used:

COOX MESbox SCADA Premium for supervision, acquisition and monitoring of information

MESbox MTG for monitoring material flows and genealogy

MESbox PMT for process traceability and management (manufacturing data)

Archive Manager module for long-term historization and archiving production data

Project modeling

The COOX solution of ORDINAL Software chosen for this project integrates a large number of required essential functions into its different modules, including both supervision and MES modules, in the form of standard configurable components, and has allowed ACTEMIUM I2A to achieve significant time savings in terms of programming.

Moreover, thanks to the modeling technology of the COOX platform the amount of time required for configuration and set-up of facilities has been substantially reduced.

This is one of the principal acknowledged advantages of the solution: it can model the equipment, modify and easily use the models into which all the know-how was integrated during programming and it can duplicate them instantly to reuse them directly for another line or in another shop.

In this way, project implementation is greatly facilitated.

Other advantages of the solution

Among other major assets of the COOX solution ACTEMIUM I2A has appreciated the possibility of deploying the developed application directly on the company intranet network.

Visualization and operation of the application from any point of the intranet makes it possible for end clients to easily use the application for their convenience.

For ACTEMIUM I2A the modular integrated COOX software solution has a great flexibility, particularly during creation of recipes (a single procedure for all manufactured products). The system’s ease of use and flexibility at opening are also appreciated.

A forward-looking partnership

ACTEMIUM I2A, a Premier Certified Partner of ORDINAL Software, expects, above all, from software publishers to provide powerful and technically mature software applications.

An efficient hotline, which is available during the whole development phase, is also an advantage and serves to meet end clients’ needs in the best possible way and to participate in the success of their projects.
