MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT Terry Varner

The Car Show is over for another year. Thanks to everyone that helped out. It looked a little like organized chaos, but it all came together nicely for a great show. Thanks to John Bratta and all the judges, great job. Thanks to Melissa Welborn and Tori Schaneman and their crew for a great job on the silent auction. Once again Donny & Kerri Lawson brought us some great sandwich’s and cookies for our lunch. Good stuff. Thanks to I Wire Solutions and Kirt Hill for donating the beauti-ful trophies for our show. Of course we can’t thank Jim & Sharon Hill enough for all their hard work. Trying to have all the numbers ready for our November meeting.

The November meeting is very important. The second round of nominations for next years offi-cer’s will be held. We will then vote for next years officers. We need someone to step up to be our club secretary and take the meeting minutes. Kim has done and outstanding job for three years. That’s above and beyond the call of duty. Please someone volunteer for this important job.

We had four cars go to Cowtown’s car show. We had two winners. Jim Hill received a Class Award for his beautifully prepared 2004 Corvette Convertible. John Bratta scored an award for the best paint job on his amazing 2003 Z06. John has won a number of awards for the paint job on his car. Congratulations guys, great job.

We were also asked to attend the Airport Fly in Pancake breakfast. I didn’t attend and don’t know who if anyone did. We will find out at the meeting.

Another reminder to get your checks in for your renewal of our club dues. Either mail your checks in to our PO Box, or bring it to the November meeting. We need every thing in the hands of Neil Bellamy before the 15th of November so he can process the NCCC portion of our dues. Thank you for your cooperation on this matter.

I plan to work on our Christmas Dinner this week. Hopefully I will have it worked out by the No-vember meeting. Please continue your good responses to my RSVP request for our club meeting dinner. I will try to continue to get a menu out to you to help with your decision.

Look forward to seeing everyone at our November 2nd Meeting

MESSAGE FROM THE Vice PRESIDENT Ed Pultorak

Well, the Cowboys can’t decide if they will kneel, or not; if player off-field misbehavior (or worse) is ok, or not; or if they are going to show up and play, or not. They potentially have a steam roller offense that should score 30+ points a game. And if they did control the ball that much, the defense would be good enough to hold the opponent to 20 or less. Sounds like management & coaching issues to me. And the same goes for the Rangers and the Mavericks. What’s wrong with Dallas ma-jor league team owners?

Our annual car show was a success again, thanks to all the members that turned out to help. (I don’t remember having as many members helping before.) A couple of minor glitches, but we, as the host club, can be proud. Also, a big THANK YOU to Donny & Kerri Lawson for the lunch.

In November, we have: annual dues need to be paid by the club meeting on Nov 2, end of Daylight Saving on the Nov 5, Veterans Day on Nov 11, and Thanksgiving Day on Nov 23.

The Nov 2nd club meeting is important, please try to attend. We will have 2018 officer nominations and elections, and discussion on the club participation in Veterans Day activities. The food is getting much better, and we need to “pay” for the room with our meal purchases, so I ask you all to consider the RSVP from Terry. Hope to see you there.

Jim has put the show together for seven years. This year a group is in the gazebo reciting the Rosary reading from 9 AM to 3PM to celebrate 100 years.
