Unit 1: Everyday life -Separable two-word verbsWe can separate some two word verbs with a direct object. When the direct object is a noun, it can go between the two part of the verb or after them.

E.g.

Pick the paper up

Pick up the paper.

When the direct object is a pronoun, it must go between the two parts of the verb. It can't go after the two parts of the verb.

E.g.Pick it upPick up it-Connectors

butWe sometimes use but to contrast a sentence with a positive meaning and a sentence with negative meaning.

E.g.

I like cereal. I don't like eggs.

I like cereal but I don't like eggs.

ann ...tooWe us and ...too to combine sentences with the same verb or adjective.

E.g.

Jenny likes eggs. Her mom likes eggs.

Jenny likes eggs and her mom does, too.I am tall. My brother is tall.

I am tall and my brother is too.-Adverb of frequency (sometimes)W use adverbs of frequency to talk about how often something happens. Unlike never an always, sometimes can go at the beginning oof a sentence.

E.g.Sometimes I clean my room.Never I clean my room.Always I clean my room.Unit 2: Whats the time

-Telling time We use it as the subject when we tell the time.

E.g.

Unit 3: Hows the weather?

-Going toWe use going to+verb to talk about things that we are sure are going to happen in the future.E.g.I'm going yo wear sunglasses tomorrow. I'm not going to wear boots.Its going to be hot.
