Gives a qualitative description of various practices under a Capability.

Describes different levels of maturity required of the business processes.

Covers topics related to a business process which qualify the process. These are called critical success factors and help track the process in multiple perspectives.

Depicted as a 3 x 4 matrix, with three dimensions and four scales of mastery.

Dimensions are: Process / People / Technology.

Scales of mastery are progressive: Basic / Advanced / Leading / Emerging.

Practices across scales of mastery are linked via a common critical success factor.
