Words you need to know…Credit---Official certification that a student has completed a
course. At BGHS, we have whole (1) credit courses and half (1/2) credit courses.
Semester---One of the two divisions of an academic year. 1st semester--the start of school to winter break (August – December).
2nd semester--after winter break until the end of the year (January – May)
Prerequisite—What is required before you can take a classTranscript---A student’s academic record. Core Courses—Academic courses recognized by the NCAA
ClearinghouseCareer Pathway—A series of courses that lead a student to
being ready for a specific career. Kind of like a college major.
Math RequirementAll students are required to take a math course every year of high
school.

A temporary GPA is figured at the end of each year and a final one is done at the end of senior year.
Rank in class is determined by the numerical grade point average.
The final averages of all courses are counted in figuring the numerical GPA.
