ENJOY YOUR
SPRING BREAK!
From the Desk of 7-12 Assistant Principal Kim Ninabuck
Wow, has it already been 6 months since school started? That means we only have a little over 3 months before summer is here. It hardly seems possible with the snow still on the ground. The rush of spring and warmer weather around the corner means students are going to be thinking about wanting to be outside and summer things. We need to work as a team (school, community and parents) to get our kids to focus and stay the course. Our 7-12 Staff has been working hard on going over data, asking some hard questions, and investigating Literacy strategies we can implement across all classes and curriculums to increase our students ability to succeed in class as well as beyond. Our PBIS team in the high school has met fidelity on Tier 1 in its first year of implementation and is working hard on implementing Tier 2. The team has started Check-in/Check-out with out 7-12 students who need extra help in meeting success. Our tardies in the 7-12 have gone down but we are still working on a few students who need extra reinforcement to get to class on time. Dr. Justin Patchin will be presenting at the Family Center on Monday, March 18th to talk to parents about Internet safety. This is a must see for all parents. It will be a great presentation and an eye opener for all. Dr. Patchin will also be talking with our students about Internet safety on Tuesday, March 19th. Quarter 3 ends on March 27th. There will be an early release day for students on March 27th and no school March 28-April 1st. Spring is right around the corner. I think we are all looking forward to warmer weather.

News from the Guidance Office
John Broeker - Elementary Guidance Counselor January’s Character Theme is RESPECT. Respect will be broken down into four topics: self-respect, respect for authority, respect for others, and tolerance. Each topic will have an objective. Self-respect, students will see the importance of treating themselves with respect. Respect for authority, students will see the benefits of obeying their parents, teachers, and others in authority. Respect for others, students will understand the importance of having respect for others. Tolerance, students will see the importance of respecting and accepting people who are different from them. I encourage parents to ask their children what they learned in Guidance to help reinforce the Character theme. I want to thank the parents for being supportive of the guidance program at Bowler Elementary School; it shows that you care about your children. Showing RESPECT: Kindergarten: Martina Castellanos, Dezarae Mueller Grade 1: Addison Moreno, Tyler Rosenow Grade 2: Marcus Malone, Taylor Przybylski, Delson Pero Grade 3: Donald Webster, Daquan Gregory Grade 4: Camille Wescott Grade 5: Carson Waters Grade 6: Nick Young

Throughout the week of February 11-15, 2013 the school was glowing in an array of colors of love and support for those touched by cancers. Each day of the week students and staff dressed in cancer hope colors to show their love and hope for a cure. Daily Trivia was done and prizes were awarded to Jacob Gutt, Winter DeRoos, Kristina Koenning, Chelsea Shields, and Drew Payne. The Wall of Hope soon was filled with messages of remembrances, wishes of hope, and
notes of love. Cancer touched so many students and faculty and all came out to show their support and love. Students and staff purchased the hope stickers to gain ability to wear hats throughout the week raising a total $75.00 to be put toward Relay for Life.
