To mitigate the environmental impact of its sites,Bouygues Construction has set environmentalstandards that are common to all its subsidiariesand businesses.

Drawn from the most stringent national regulationsand exemplary practices observed within the Group,

these standards are our guarantee to our clients thatwe shall accord our utmost respect to the environmentand the neighbourhood in the execution of our works.

They also enable us to mobilise our teams aroundresolute and clearly defined environmental objectives.

Indispensable actions are highlighted and mustabsolutely be respected on all our sites. Proposals ofBest practices observed within the Group as well aspresentations of Eco-equipment that respect theenvironment are also included in the guide.

Actions presented in the guide are in line with require-ments relating to sites as laid down by the principalenvironmental certification bodies (BREEAM, LEED,HQE…).

An evaluation grid is used to check the implemen-tation of actions recommended in the environmentalstandards guide based on the 11 themes. More than60 evaluation criteria were identified, graded accor-ding to three levels of performance.

An environmental label, Ecosite, is awardedbased on results obtained from the above evaluation.

The audit to obtain the label is conducted using theevaluation grid of the standards; generally theprogress of site is between 15 and 25%.

The audit is performed by a team that is independentfrom the site (Quality Safety Environmentaldepartment). Follow-up audits are carried out toensure that the criteria are adhered to throughout theduration of works.

The awarding of the Ecosite label is signified by the han-ding over of a flag that symbolises the commitment andthe motivation of the teams. The flag is hoisted on sitein the presence of the client, the companymanagement,all the production team and the partners.
