Bottled UP! is a documentary expose’ about Breastfeeding in America. Our mission is to restore the Phenomenon

of the Nursing Mother to the cultural landscape of Ameri-ca.

The mantra is everywhere - “Breast is Best.” In the US 75% of all mothers attempt to breastfeed, but startling few suc-ceed. Despite overwhelming evidence that it is the healthi-est way to feed a baby, fewer than 14% of American women successfully breastfeed.

Our film asks, “Why?”

Why do so many women start out breastfeeding but find themselves up against overwhelming obstacles?

We will take you on a journey that will outrage and incite, enlighten and inspire, as we expose the social program-ming that derails breastfeeding, and explore:

•Whythisishappening?•Whobenefits?•Whatisatstake?

Join us on our mission to elevate the nursing mother to a place in society where she receives all the necessary sup-port to successfully nurse a child, where scientific evidence overrides marketing influences, and a woman does not fear breastfeeding in public.

Welcome. This is your chance to make a tremendous differ-ence in the lives of women.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Davidson & Chantal Molnar

Jennifer Davidson RN BSN IBCLC* is a pediatric nurse and lactation consultant at the progressive pediatric practice of Dr. Jay Gordon, M.D. in Santa Monica, CA. Af-ter years of working with mothers and babies Jennifer recognized a consistent need to provide her clients with essential tools to enable them to trust their bodies, trust their babies, and trust themselves, especially during the early days of new mother-hood.

Chantal Molnar RN MA IBCLC* worked at University of California, Irvine Medical Center for over 20 years. During those years she saw how damaging medical prac-tices are to breastfeeding, and realized how drastically the culture must change in order for more moms to succeed. She holds a master’s degree in human develop-ment.

Because of their experience and unique way of approaching mothers and babies, Jennifer and Chantal decided to create a documentary that addresses these and many other issues facing mothers in the 21st Century.*International Board Certified Lactation Consultant

Why aren’t women buying it?

Why is breastfeeding important?

Who cares?

Most people have never before seen the images and concepts presented in this film:

Footage of the innate capabilities of preemies when kept on their mother’s chest rather than in an incubator.

The intuitive relationship and interconnections between mothers and their babies even during sleep.

Animations that illustrate:

• Immunity• How milk is produced• Brain development• Effects of the first feeding on the newborn GI system.

Bottled Up! shines a light on areas usually dismissed by media and medicine such as:

Page 13: Bottled Up Pitch 5

The internal wisdom that resides in every woman.

The very intentional and life-ensuring capabilities of newborns.

The amazing physiology of the two coming together as one.

This film is a significant validation of women’s personal power and authority as mothers.

AudienceWe anticipate a larger audience than one would normally expect for this kind of film due to the number of celebrities who have agreed to be a part of our film. Our audience consists of moth-ers-to-be and their friends and families, birth-ing and breastfeeding professionals, alternative health practitioners, public health professionals, sustainable living, raw food, and slow food advo-cates, those who want to see corporate influence diminished, especially when it comes to control over our bodies and our health.

WebsiteOur website is the foundation for supporting the philosophy that we promote: TRUST YOUR BODY - TRUST YOUR BABY - TRUST YOURSELF The vision for our website combines the latest research, Jennifer and Chantal’s professional opinion, with interactive input from mothers. We consider moth-ers to be the experts and will provide a platform for conversations among women to share what worked and what didn’t work for them on a variety of issues facing women today. We want to be the go-to site where mothers can validate and share what they know, and to discover what other moms are do-ing differently.

BrandTrust your body, trust your baby, trust yourself, strikes a cord with women that resonates deeply. Mothers are desperate for “solutions” that help them to be good mothers – sleep training being only one example. When a new mother is guided to her own knowing during her initial home visit and she “gets it,” you can see her radiate with self confidence on a level she has not previously experienced.
