South Africa is a fascinating and wonderful country, but unfortunately it is also plagued by extreme poverty which is shown in staggeringly high rates of crime, vio-lence, HIV/AIDS infection and unemployment of 45% of the 18-35 year old population. In South Africa every

fifth child has either lost one or both parents. With the World Cup having past and the attention of the World shifting to other places this sadly often seems to be forgotten.

Through my travels to South Africa, where I worked as a doctor in several townships I got to know the amazing work AMANDLA EduFootball does. Their programmes make a significant difference to the lives of thousands of young people on a daily basis. Using the power of football, the organisation provides young people who are forced to grow up separated from their families and in severely disadvantaged socio-economic circumstances, with valuable life-skills that provide the foundation for a better future.

Last year I supported this unique educational initiative with a fundraising cam-paign and I would like to repeat this in 2011 as I am convinced of the tremen-dously positive, life-changing impact it has.

Therefore I would like to ask you to join forces with me in supporting this very worthy cause. The “How?” is easily explained:
