From the Director...

One of my favorite songs from the Into the Woods score is No One is Alone. Itprettymuch sums upall ofmy thoughts about my first directing experience atTGV. The learning curve has been exponential andat times overwhelming, butthis has truly been a blessing. As a math teacher, everything becomes a numbersgame to me... so, I decided to crunch a few: out of43 persons auditioning, 20 pwere cast; 300hours were spentin planning &designing; 300+ hours in set construction by 25 cast &crew members; 400+ hours in costuming; 200hours in jmusical programming; and 120hoursof rehearsal (not counting whateach individual didon theirown). Add these altogether andit equals ONE ... oneamazingand challenging experience. Thanks to theTGV boardfor their support; MichaelBrogdon for being mymentor; Ricardo Ipina for hisoutstanding musical direction, his willingness to helpme with trouble spots andabove allhis encouragement; and to Mary Helen Taylor for doing all theworrying forme.

George Bernard Shaw oncesaidthere are two tragedies in life;"One is not to getyour heart's desire. Theother is to get it." Thatis theheart ofInto the Woods.Enjoy!
