Being blue doesn’t mean sitting idly and staring at textbooks. At Boise State, it means "a-ha" moments you experi-ence working side-by-side with your professors. It’s not like that everywhere. At most universities, only graduate students can participate in research. Our commitment to providing direct, hands-on learning for all our students results in unmatched research exposure and opportunity.

You’ll work alongside faculty in a wide range of research projects, such as moni-toring groundwater flow, studying brain functions or conducting community sur-veys. You’ll co-write papers with faculty mentors. You’ll present your own findings at Boise State’s annual Undergraduate Research Conference or at professional meetings around the country.

Boise’s lively cultural and entertain-ment scene has plenty of things that’ll open your eyes. Enjoy the thriving music scene like Treefort or concerts in the Botanical Garden. Check out a variety of dance clubs, movie theaters or shops that cater to the college crowd. Discover no fewer than 15 museums, including the Boise Art Museum, Idaho Black History Museum, Basque Museum & Cultural Center, Anne Frank Human Rights Me-morial, World Center for Birds of Prey and Zoo Boise. Then take the short 10-minute walk back to campus. The only thing there may be a shortage of is time in between classes and studying.

A spectacular mountain-high desert rises majestically from a lush green val-ley. Small town warmth meets big city amenities. From the top of the stands and rafters to courtside, you can hear it. There’s a deafen-ing roar like no other. Bronco Pride is alive and well at Boise State. This is a place where voices go hoarse, faces turn blue and muscles ache from jumping up and down. Any true Bronco fan will tell you that all of our sports teams enjoy a long and memo-rable history of thrills and successes. From men’s and women’s basketball to indoor and outdoor track & field, swimming and diving to tennis and wrestling, there's always heart-stopping action to cheer for at Boise State.

Boise State University awards both merit- and need-based scholarships to qualifying students. Students seeking merit-based scholarships must have a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of at least 3.00, and students seeking need-based aid must sub-mit their FAFSA by February 15th. All application materials must be received in Admissions by these dates to be considered:

GEM/WUE SCHOLARSHIPS

Boise State offers two highly-competitive programs that can reduce the cost of nonresident tuition: GEM and WUE. The GEM Scholarship is for qualified nonresidents that waives the full time nonresident portion of tuition for out-of-state students. The WUE (Western Undergraduate Exchange) is a regional tuition-reciproc-ity agreement that enables students from 15 western states and the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands to enroll at Boise State at 150 percent of the institution's resident tuition.

To meet the priority date for nonresident scholarships, all admission materials for new and transfer students must be received in Admis-sions by December 15, 2015. The Boise State Admissions Index is used to evaluate your admissibility to Boise State. It combines high school GPA and ACT or SAT scores, placing the most weight on GPA. Find your GPA across the top and your test score down the left side. Draw a line from each toward the center until they intersect. If the intersection indicates you are an Excellent Candidate, you are highly likely to be admitted.
