‘My BMW ConnectedDrive’ customer portal 05

‘MY BMW CONNECTED DRIVE’ CUSTOMER PORTAL.

To be able to use all features, such as Remote Services, you will first need to register yourself and your vehicle once on the ‘My BMW ConnectedDrive’ customer portal at www.bmw-connecteddrive.co.uk.

The customer portal also allows you to book new services or renew existing subscriptions.

Register on the customer portal in just a few steps:

HOW IT WORKS:‘My BMW ConnectedDrive’ can be found at www.bmw-connecteddrive.co.uk

1. On the portal home page, select ‘Register now’.

2. Now enter your email address, and a password and confirm that you accept the Terms & Conditions.

3. Once you have received a registration email, confirm your registration via the link in that email.

4. Now add your personal details and add your BMW to your account by entering the last seven digits of your BMW’s chassis number (VIN). The VIN can be found on your vehicle registration certificate.

5. You will then receive a message containing a code for your BMW. When you enter this code in the customer portal, your vehicle will instantly be assigned to your personal account.

6. To use the My BMW Remote App, activate the remote features in the portal by going to ‘Services Status’ and clicking on‘Activate Remote Services’ in the Status menu.

SMARTPHONE INTEGRATION.

The Bluetooth and USB functions give you permanent access in your vehicle to applications like the hands-free system, Office features or apps on your smartphone – at the same time ensuring great comfort and maximum safety. Connect your smartphone to your BMW via:

– Bluetooth

– USB cable

– Snap-in adapter*

Note: Please visit www.bmw.co.uk/bluetooth for information on Bluetooth compatibility of smartphones and on other mobile devices.

Smartphone pairing via Bluetooth:

– In the main menu, select ‘Settings’ and then ‘Connections’.

– Next choose ‘Bluetooth’ and ‘Add new device’.

– The vehicle’s Bluetooth name will appear on the Control Display.

Perform further steps on your smartphone:

– Please note the operating instructions of your smartphone: e.g. Search for Bluetooth devices, Connect, or Add new device.

– The vehicle’s Bluetooth name will appear on your smartphone’s display. Then confirm the code.

– The smartphone will then be connected and shown at the top of the list of connected devices.

Note: For road safety reasons, Bluetooth pairing may only be performed when your vehicle is stationary.

CONNECTED DRIVE SERVICES – BMW ONLINE & BMW APPS.ConnectedDrive Services (OE 6AK) is the core optional equipment from BMW ConnectedDrive and allows you to book additional services, such as RTTI and the Concierge Service. It contains the BMW internet portal BMW Online and the innovative BMW Apps interface for the in-vehicle use of compatible smartphone apps.

ConnectedDrive Services are also a great source of information, entertainment and other services while you’re on the road. This also includes BMW Online, via which you can benefit from location-based information including weather and news updates, and also use the Online Search (powered by Google™) as well as Office functions. The ConnectedDrive menu allows you to select a customised set of services and features like webcams, parking information, and travel and hotel guides.

The innovative BMW Apps interface allows you to use apps developed by BMW, such as the BMW Connected app, as well as a range of compatible smartphone applications directly in your vehicle – conveniently via your BMW’s operating system. – In order to set up an email account within BMW Online Office, select ‘Office’.

– Use the symbol to add an email provider like Gmail, Hotmail,Live, Yahoo, etc. to the list and enter your BMWConnectedDrive customer portal information: your user nameand password.¹

– Configure your email account by entering your email address,the name shown and your password.

– If you can’t find your email provider in the list, it can be added manually in the BMW customer portal. Please note that

On a PC:

– In order to set up your email accounts for your vehicle, begin by logging in on the ‘My BMW ConnectedDrive’ customer portal at www.bmw-connecteddrive.co.uk using your user name and password.¹

You can use BMW Online Office to access one or more email accounts from your vehicle. Whether Gmail, Hotmail, Live, Yahoo, or other providers, BMW Online Office allows you to read, dictate and send email from inside your vehicle.

HOW IT WORKS:BMW CONNECTED APP.

So convenient: Download the free BMW Connected app to your smartphone and have various functions shown on your BMW Control Display or read out to you:

– ECO PRO Analyser

– Web radio (only with Apple iOS)

– Wiki Local (finds articles about points of interest and places near your destination)

– Facebook or Twitter

– Calendar function (to access appointments in your smartphone’s calendar)

– News (RSS feeds)

On your smartphone:

– Last Mile Navigation & Vehicle Finder (shows the way to your final destination and back to your BMW)

Note: The BMW Connected app can only be used in BMW models with the optional equipment ConnectedDrive Services (OE No. 6AK or for Z4 option 6NR Apps Interface). See page 09 for information on how to connect your smartphone using the snap-in adapter.

For many BMW models produced after July 2016 it is possible to connect and use the app and third party apps wirelessly. This

– Download the BMW Connected app to your smartphone (free via the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store).

– In your vehicle’s main menu, select ‘ConnectedDrive’ and scroll to ‘BMW Apps’.

– Connect your smartphone to the vehicle via USB cable or using the snap-in adapter and then launch the BMW Connected app on your smartphone. On Android phones, the app will start automatically upon connection.

– Via ‘More apps’ you can switch between different applications that are ‘BMW Apps ready’, meaning they are BMW compatible.

Note: At present there are no third-party apps available for Android, although we are constantly working on extending the range. Available apps may vary between markets.

– Open the BMW Connected app.

– Select ‘More apps’.

– You will then be shown a list of all available apps:

Always keep in contact with your world, even while you drive. You can easily connect your smartphone to your BMW via USB cable or using the snap-in adapter. Then use the BMW Apps interface to show selected apps from your smartphone on the Control Display, and safely operate them while you drive using the iDrive system.

In the BMW Connected app’s ‘Handheld mode’ (when your smartphone is not connected to the BMW), under ‘More apps’ in the information menu, you can find out which third-party apps can be used in your BMW. This will give you an overview of all available applications which are BMW compatible.

HOW IT WORKS:BMW CONNECTED DRIVE STORE (BOOK AND EXTEND SERVICES). In your vehicle:

– In the main menu, select ‘ConnectedDrive’, then ‘BMW Online’ and ‘ConnectedDrive Store’.

– This will show you the services you have booked and how long these are valid for.

– To book a new service, select the desired service. Select your chosen validity period, log in using your login details and confirm your booking.

On a PC:

– Log into the ‘My BMW ConnectedDrive’ customer portal¹ at www.bmw-connecteddrive.co.uk.

– To book a service, select the ‘Store’ in the ‘Status’ menu.

– To select a service, click on ‘Details’, select your chosen validity period and confirm your booking. The service will be available to use in your BMW soon afterwards.

Note: To be able to book additional services and products in your vehicle or on the ‘My BMW ConnectedDrive’ customer portal¹ at www.bmw-connecteddrive.co.uk, you will first need to save a payment credit card and billing address in the customer portal¹ under ‘Manage vehicles’.

HOW IT WORKS:ONLINE ENTERTAINMENT.

Online Entertainment lets you bring more than 35 million tracks from 250 genres right into your vehicle. Whether on your drive to work, your way to a meeting or during a family outing: With Online Entertainment, you can listen to your favourite songs – always and everywhere. To do so, simply open an unlimited-access music account with one of BMW’s music partners (e.g. Napster orDeezer), or use your existing account if you have one, and make sure your BMW drive is completely to your music taste. Users registering for the first time receive a year’s music subscription free of charge.

ONLINE ENTERTAINMENT - TRIAL OFFER.

Online Entertainment is now available to try for just £1 for a month of unlimited access to music streaming from your choice of Napster or Deezer.

Once you have experienced the service you can simply renew by purchasing for one year via the BMW ConnectedDrive Store, either in the car or online via the ConnectedDrive Portal.

All the music streamed while using the trial will be available following renewal of the service for the full year.

– Addresses can be sent directly to your navigation system for guidance purposes or viewed under ‘ConnectedDrive’ and ‘Messages’.

Your personal companion on every journey: The Concierge Service gives you your very own contact person around the clock,

seven days a week, to assist you.

HOW IT WORKS:MY INFO.

Messages, addresses, telephone numbers and URLs can be sent directly to your BMW using the ‘My Info’ function via the ‘My BMW ConnectedDrive’ customer portal¹ at www.bmw-connecteddrive.co.uk.

My Info on the ‘My ConnectedDrive’ customer portal¹:

– Log in to the customer portal¹ at www.bmw-connecteddrive.co.uk using your user name and password.

– Click on ‘My Services’ and ‘My Info’.

– Enter a message subject and the information you wish to send to your BMW. Then click on ‘Send’.


In your vehicle:

– In the main menu, select ‘ConnectedDrive’ and then ‘Messages’.

– An unopened letter symbol shows new messages.

SEND TO CAR.

You can search for and find addresses with selected partners, such as Google™ Maps www.maps.google.com, ViaMichelin www.viamichelin.com or HRS www.hrs.com. You can then transfer the addresses directly to your BMW navigation system using the ‘Send to Car’ function.

HOW IT WORKS:Sending from ‘Send to Car’ (Example: Google™ Maps* via PC**):

– Search for a place.

– On the info map which is displayed below the search field, click on ‘Send to Car’.

– Then select ‘Car make’ and then ‘BMW’ in the dropdown menu.

– In the field ‘BMW Assist’ / ‘My BMW user name’, enter your user name from the ‘My BMW ConnectedDrive’ customer portal¹.

– You may wish to add a telephone number and a message to the address information.

– Finish by clicking on ‘Send’.* Requires active Google account.** Display may vary on mobile devices.

In your vehicle:

– In the main menu, select ‘ConnectedDrive’ and then ‘Messages’.

– An unopened letter symbol shows new messages.

HOW IT WORKS:REMOTE SERVICES.Activation in the ‘My BMW ConnectedDrive’ customer portal¹:

– Log in to the ‘My ConnectedDrive’ customer portal¹ at www.bmw-connecteddrive.co.uk using your user name and password.

– Click on ‘Activate Remote Services’.

– Select one or more vehicles and activate Remote Services.

ConfiguringtheMyBMWRemoteApp:

– Download the My BMW Remote App (free via the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store).

– Select ‘Log in’ and enter your user name and your password.

Operate your BMW from anywhere: Remote Services are on hand to ensure driving your BMW is as comfortable as possible, as soon as you get in. Using a smartphone and the My BMW Remote App you can:

– Flashheadlights in order to find your vehicle– Call up your vehicle’s position*

– Lock and unlock doors

– Use the Online Search (powered by Google™) and have addresses sent to your vehicle

– Activate ventilation remotely

HOW IT WORKS:INTELLIGENT EMERGENCY CALL.

Intelligent Emergency Call guarantees quick help and is nowstandard on every new BMW. Using an accident-proof SIM card built into the vehicle, it establishes contact with a specially trained member of staff at the BMW call centre – independently of your mobile telephone. No matter where you happen to be driving, you’ll always get to speak to a call centre agent in the language of your home country. They will inform the nearest emergency control centre and assist you until help arrives. Your vehicle will transmit all the data relevant to your rescue to the call centre:

– Exact GPS position including direction of travel

– Nature of accident as well as the likelihood of passenger injury

– Number of passengers

– Vehicle type, colour and registration number, allowing quickandaccuratevehicleidentification

– Automatic activation as soon as crash sensors or airbags are triggered

or

– Manual activation via the emergency call button in the headliner, allowing you to help other road users
