It is indeed an honor to be working with the Blue Water Angus Club again as well as the consignors that take part in this historic Angus sale. 2014 has everyone smiling for good reason as the prices and demand for Beef is in a never seen before state. Best thing to do is to make sure you have top quality stock - why not make Angus the #1 Beef Breed in Canada! The demand for the Angus female will see unprecedented highs as they are the mother cow of choice. I would certainly say last winter proved that quite handily as Ontario and much of Canada saw one of the worst winters with all sorts of adverse conditions, the result the cows pulled through with flying colors leaving a set of calves that is mouthwatering. The Blue Water Sale represents years of selling fancy heifer calves that could work in the show ring but more importantly more in mother nature’s show ring, the pasture. The bred heifers represent a fresh set of genetics about to born in the spring of 2015 with new AI services as well as the proven bulls that make a valuable coupon easy to clip and more importantly a worthy investment. Mature cows serve a great opportu-nity as proven producers that have bolstered their resume through their production. Join us on Friday, October 17th for a preview of the sale offering and some Blue Water hospitality Friday evening. Saturday we look forward to visiting with you prior to the sale and again invite you to be our guest for a complimentary lunch. Come see why this sale is still going and will celebrate it’s 67th in hosting this historic event. Should you have any questions regarding the sale cattle please feel welcome to give any of the sales staff or the consignors, we look forward to the visit.

See you Sale Day!

Shane CastleCastlerock Marketing

On behalf of the board, I would like to extend a sincere Welcome to the 67th consecutive Bluewater Club Sale. There is an atmosphere of optimism in the cattle industry at present. Record pricing for calves through cows is exciting for all of us. Now is the time to sever the ties with that old brood cow that weans a weak calf or needs a vet ever y year. These cows are costing you too much money. For those breeders who promote their breeding program through the show ring, we have a collection here today that will give you amazing results. For those who put emphasis on EPD and eye appeal we can satisfy that here today as well. Whichever way you favor, remember Angus cattle are the most popular and feed efficient in the industry today. We would like to thank Shane for his hard work in selecting only the best lots from the consignors here today. We would also like to thank the con-signors for working hard to present you this amazing group of cattle for your evaluation. You can purchase lots today with the confidence that these cattle will go home and be profitable contributors to your breeding program.

Thanks to everyone for your participation today and let’s enjoy the great industry that we are in! Dennis BridgePresident

Matilda 220B descends from a great producing cow 11H. We should know as we have owned 2 of her daughters and the third one remains in the herd of Tim & Melody Roth. Her sire, Oak Manor Advantage 166W, is moderate framed, easy fleshing with a great set of feet. Expect 220B to be a milky, attractive, hard work-ing Mother Cow.

Rita 302B came to us in dam from a cow purchased in Justamere’s Sale last fall. Her dam is a beautiful fronted, huge ribbed Emblazon daughter with perfect thumb-sized teats. We would also imagine that 302B will be one of the first EXAR Fortify calves to sell this year. This female is part of our show string and we think she is “Big Time”! Will be entered at Canadian Western Agribition.

We never planned on owning a Right Time daughter based on our breeding program, but when we saw the progeny of

Miss Middlebrook 124M in the D.J. Smith dispersal, it just looked like good busi-ness to own her. The heifer calf that she was carrying paid for her, and is now a valued member of the Sheidaghan herd in Alberta. 124M has been a great cash cow for us with her progeny sales averaging close to $4000. The sire of this out-standing calf is now serving the herd of Larry Kydd at Flesherton, Ontario. This heifer would make a very competitive show prospect. Sells open.

We consider this a very special consignment considering that the semen from Wandering Creek Dynasty 2F sells in excess of

$500 per dose. Dynasty 2F was one of the greatest sires of females and contributed in a large way to the foundation of the Miller Wilson herd in Alberta. He also sired DMM Dynasty 03G, who is the sire of Glen Islay Pride 22L on the bottom side of this calfs pedigree. Texas Tea 19M left a legacy in the Angus Acres herd, and sired the highly popular Angus Acres Tex 16S. Glen Islay Pride 12N is the most influential cow in our herd with about 20 female descendents, and her two sons that we have used heavily G.I. Winston 14U and G.I. Rocky 8Z. Good cattle never change and this calf has as many good cattle in her pedigree as you can get. Sells open.

A February heifer calf that has growth, power and performance written all over her. With the depth of body and rib in this heifer calf she is designed to make a great cow. A maternal brother to 11B was tested at New Liskeard last year and yielded strong numbers, he was sold in the PIC of the Bull Sale at Carson’s and sold to Roger Smith of St. Mary’s, ON. 11B sire is a Dunford Royal Bull that we bought and has produced many top females in our herd, a great bull to use on heifers with exceptional milking ability. Be sure to mark your catalogue on this heifer as performance is her middle name.

Attention 4-H’ers….here is a calf that is destined to be your next year’s 4-H project. Ramona 5B is a footprint of her Dam 695S who is one of the deepest cows we own. The style of this heifer makes her a show stopper every time you see her. Sired by the Agribition Champion Bull Southland Thriller 83X adds depth to her pedigree and depth to her rib. This heifer is at the top of our heifer pen. 5B is part of our show string this fall and will be entered in the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.

This female has already attracted a tonne of pre-sale interest and is almost al-ways picked out during herd tours. Her flush sister was the high selling lot in the 2012 Bluewater sale selling to Baby Black for $6,750. Her dam, 643T is the $36,000 high selling cow from the 2012 Peak Dot sale that has gone on to produce many top selling progeny for Boss Cattle Company and Peak Dot Ranch. Her sire is the $200,000 Denver sensation, HF Prowler 43T, whose progeny are popping up at the top of sale reports across Canada and the US. As exciting as her pedigree reads, it gets even better with the mating on this heifer. She is due January 2nd to female sorted Connealy Final Product.

Another exceptional offering from the Trojan Erica family, 309 is square and powerful blending of SAV Iron Mountain and a very powerful Bando 5175 daughter. Her dam always produces top weighing calves and for those of you that have toured our herd this summer, she is the dam of the stand-out bull calf, North Perth Resource 412. I can’t say enough about these Net Worth daughters and we can say even more about this one bred by Bob and Helen Darby at Nielcairn. She’s got that broody look to her and her pedigree tells us she has the genetics to go on and make some great ones. Her dam is a Sterling Hunter cow, but her grand dam is a full sister to the famous female maker, Hyline Right Time 338! How many of us can say we have a grand daughter from full sister to 338. This is a real genetic gem in our opinion. She is definitely one of our best heifers and line bred to one of the best cows we

have owned. Four D Bar Doll 299L was powerfull from end to end, with tremen-dous bone structure, perfect feet, good uddered, and very long bodied. Glen Islay Trooper 32Y is probably the best son of Bonnie Chance 10A that we have raised, and we will be breeding more cows to him next year. Note as well that Glen Islay Bar Doll 38X raised Glen Islay Bandolier 2Z that sold to Durness Angus in Alberta for $14,500. We highly recommend this heifer.

Our daughters of Winston 14U in production have excellent ud-ders, are very easy fleshing and fertile. The influence of Glen

Islay Pride 12N is evident. The dam of this lot always weans a calf in the top end and along with her we have two daughters. A recent visitor from Australia sug-gested one of her daughters should be in an E.T. program. Glen Islay Pride 14L was a member of the winning get of sire at the Royal Winter Fair. This is a big strong heifer that could raise a big time herd sire. Pasture bred after 28 April to Glen Islay Eston 50A; observed bred May 18. Safe in calf.

This will no doubt be one of the few and maybe the only opportunities this fall to purchase a heifer pregnancy from International 2020 and she will be born out of a full sister to Resolute! For the first time in North Perth Angus history, we are offering up females from our Trojan Erica family. Leading off the trio of Trojan Erica females is a grand daughter of Basin Trojan Erica DS 637Y, the dam of AI sire 3210 Right Time D919. She is sired by my favourite bull of the entire Angus breed, SAV Net Worth. What makes him my favourite is the daughters he leaves behind and this female is no exception. Her first daughter was retained and her second daughter by SAV Angus Valley is a looker. She’s due February 6th to SAV Angus Valley 1867.
