Interlibrary Delivery Linking Kansas and Colorado Courier

Service

Welcome to Blue Sky Express

• ALL Kansas Library Express members can ship to many Colorado libraries at no additional cost using this service.

• The service will deliver requests made through OCLC libraries in both states.

• It is also serves as a general delivery service for shipping between participating courier libraries in Kansas and Colorado.

How to Prepare Shipments

Colorado shipments require a library’s Courier Code. The code is the letter “C” followed by 3-digits.

Courier Codes are required for all items sent to Colorado locations. Items cannot be delivered with only a physical address.

Use Colorado Courier Code

• Check the list of Colorado courier libraries on the Blue Sky Express webpage:

• Find the Courier Code of the requesting library.

Identify Courier Code

• The Courier Code will also appear as the top line of the shipping address in OCLC.

Find Shipping Label

• Search the shipping labels for Colorado libraries using the Courier Code. These labels are at http://henryindustriesinc.com/

• Look under “Services” tab for CO Blue Sky Libraries.

• Confirm that the library name on the label retrieved is the requesting library.

Print Shipping Label

• Print the selected label. Choose “current page” from your printer dialog box so only one label sheet is printed.

• A sheet of 6 labels will print at one time. Extra labels may be filed for future use.

• Trim one label to be inserted into the address window of a courier shipping bag.

Package Materials

• Use Kansas Library Express nylon bags to ship materials via Blue Sky Express.

• Colorado uses rubber bands to keep books closed during shipment (optional but recommended).

• Cushion media materials with bubble wrap or cardboard sleeves. 

• Use large bags only when required to limit shifting of materials during shipment.

Pick-up and Delivery

• Blue Sky Express shipments will be picked up and delivered by your Kansas Library Express courier.
