Icon to start Bloomberg:

Double click this icon and Bloomberg will open.

This is the initial Bloomberg Screen you will see when first starting the program.

To login or create an account press the red “Default” key located on the top right of the keyboard.

Because you do not have a login you will leave both “LOGIN NAME” and “PASSWORD” blank. Press the green “Go” key also known as the “Enter” key to begin the registration process.

This is the first step in the registration process. Enter your first name, last name and a password you can remember. When you finish, click on the red box containing the text “1) Continue”.

If your name is similar to another user’s, Bloomberg will ask if you already have an existing account that you would like to modify. To create a new profile click on “1) Create New Profile.”

Please note, if your name is not similar to an existing account holder, you will not see this screen.

Enter your job title, work and mobile phone numbers and an alternative email. When finished, click on “1) Continue” for the next step.

Select an area of interest by clicking on one of the grey boxes.

A box will pop up prompting you for your region and asset classes of interest. Once you have made your selections click on “1) Update” to continue.

For question ‘2’ select a role. You can select any role you want.

Here “Trader” as the role.

Bloomberg produces a magazine named “Bloomberg Markets.” As a Bloomberg user this magazine is available to you for free. If you want to receive the magazine click “Yes” for question 4 and you will be asked to fill out the address.

After entering your address click “Yes” for number 5 to receive real-time pricing in Bloomberg.

Click on the red button “1) Complete Registration.” Bloomberg will call your cell phone to verify your account.

You will be asked to log out and log back in. To do this press the red “Cancel” key and the “Default” key to log back in. Enter your user name and password and press the “Go” key.

When Bloomberg calls you they will ask you for a “Login Verification Number.” On this screen the verification number at the top is “4342.” Your code will be different. Once you have completed your registration you can press the red “Default” key to log out.
