TRYOUTS • STUDENTS WILL BE RATED ON THEIR FOREHAND AND

BACKHAND EXPERTISE.• ALL PLAYERS WILL BE GIVEN TWO OPPORTUNITIES TO DO

THE BEST THEY CAN ON EACH SKILL.• EACH PLAYER WILL BE RATED BETWEEN 1 AND 10 WITH 10

BEING HIGH.• A TOTAL OF 36 PLAYERS WILL BE CHOSEN TO PLAY FOR EACH

TEAM.• NO PLAYER CAN TRYOUT UNLESS THEY HAVE A PHYICAL.• PHYSICALS MUST BE TURNED IN BY FRIDAY THE 29TH

B.L. GRAY PRACTICE SCHEDULE• 8th Grade-7:15AM - 8:30 AM -Monday through Friday• 7th Grade - 3:04 PM - 5:00 PM Monday through Thursday • 3:04 PM- 3:56 PM Friday

Tournament Notes• STUDENTS SHOULD REPORT TO THE B.L. GRAY TENNIS COURTS BY 6:45 A.M.

ON THE DAY OF THE TOURNAMENT• THE BUS WILL LEAVE AT 7:00 A.M. ALL MATCHES WILL START AT 8:00 A.M.

AND SHOULD BE COMPLETED BY 4:00 PM. IF A STUDENT IS LATE FOR THE BUS, THEY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PLAY.

• PARENTS SHOULD AVOID PICKING UP THEIR CHILDREN UP AT ANY OF THE TOURNAMENTS THIS YEAR.

• STUDENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO LEAVE THE SITES DURING THE TOURNAMENT. IF AN EMERGENCY SHOULD ARISE, PARENTS SHOULD CHECK WITH COACH GUITEREZ SO SHE CAN PLACE THEIR NAME ON A MASTER LIST.

• PARENTS MAY AGONIZE DURING THE MATCHES, BUT THEY MAY NOT COACH. THIS LOFTY CHORE BELONGS TO THE COACH NEELEY AND HIS COMIC SIDEKICK COACH GUITERREZ.

Follow Proceedures!!!!• Get to your designated court quickly or you will run.• Get a hopper for your group or you will run.• Start working on your serve until Mr. Neeley or Coach

Guiterrez gives you further instructions or you will run.• Always dress out or you will run!!!• Only Tennis shoes are allowed on the B.L. Gray Courts.• If you can’t play because of injury, please bring a note and

dress out; always dress out. • Never give you locker combination to anyone.• Lock your lockers before you come to the courts• Do not share a locker.• Do not leave your tennis racquets or other valuables

unattended.

Follow Proceedures!!!!• Do not be the last the person on the court or you will run!!!• Do not play with tennis balls while you are at the post. If you do

you will run• Do not walk across a court if they are in the middle of a point. If

you do, you will run.• If you take lessons, have your coach concentrate on you serve• When you pick up balls, remember to do it as fast as you can or

you will run.• Do not complain about who you are playing with. Sometimes

you will play good players, sometimes bad players, sometimes average players, and sometimes if your lucky, even legendary players like Mr. Neeley.

• Do not boo other players or applaud when they make a mistake.
