Focus Energy provides complete solutions and installations containing everything a heating plant requires. This means everything from individual components and boilers to turnkey solutions including all construction work, permits from the authorities, etc.
Focus Energy manufactures and installs biomass plants designed for firing with wood pellets, woodchip, waste wood and straw. All equipment for the key processes is developed by Focus Energy, which also holds the patent rights to many of the components. Plant performance ranges from 400 kW to 15,000 kW, and all facilities are grate fired with the option of switching between different types of fuel.
To improve operating efficiency, heat pump systems and absorption chillers systems from Focus Energy can be applied. This maximizes efficiency and reduces operating costs.
Wood pellets: the plants work with flue gas temperatures as low as 120°C and flue gas purification systems involving multicyclones, bag filters and elec-trofilters. Wood pellets are incinerated on chain grates or travelling grates.
Woodchip: depending on the configuration, the installations can be supplied with flue gas condensation, which can reduce the flue gas temperature to below the return temperature of the district heating water. Woodchip is incinerated on active travelling grates.
Waste wood: flue gas temperatures as low as 120°C. These installations use either chain grate or travelling grate systems and are supplied with multicyclone, bag filter or electrofilter purification.
Straw: these plants operate with flue gas temperatures as low as 120°C. They are supplied with fully automatic straw cutters with subsequent incin-eration on travelling grates. Multicyclone, bag filter or electrofilter flue gas purification. Other fuels like biofuel, pellets, seeds and grain can be used as well.

Woodchip can be anything from sun-dried wood to freshly cut wood and bark – or even waste products (wet or dry) from sawmills.
Wood pellets constitute a commodity with a range of advan-tages. They are available everywhere as pellets or briquettes. The fuel is easy to handle and store.
All types of straw can be used, from fine seed grass to rape straw. Deliveries are dependent on local suppliers – and are often based on contracts with local farmers.
Waste wood can vary greatly as regards structure and volume but whatever form it takes – from sanding dust to crushed wood – it can be incinerated in a Focus Energy Plant.

Biofuel is clean energy. The plant uses hi-tech control and monitoring equipment.

Focus Energy continuously strives to develop technologies based on the applicable regulations governing environmentally friendly incineration. This aim applies to the entire system and to every single component. Energy efficient and environmentally friendly incineration requires correct extraction and processing of the waste products.
Focus Energy ensures that environmental impact is kept to a minimum with regard to dust, CO (carbon monoxide), NOx (nitrous oxides) and heavy metals.
This means you can be sure that Focus Energy plants always abide by the applicable legal regulations.
Ash processing is fully automated and performed in such a way that it is possible to separate the bottom ash from the finer fly ash. Due to its contents af heavy metal, the fly ash is sent for environmental processing while the bottom ash can be re-used as fertilizer.
