Jan.. 2012
Greetings in Christ, brothers and sisters. Thank you all again so much for your
prayers, love, and support. The Lord has honored our “collective efforts” to reach out to the lost throughout the month of December.
The Christmas season brings out the best in all types of people. Many different charities like: Toys for Tots – put on by the Marine Corps,
and “Operation Christmas Child” by Franklin Graham – gather up toys, and shoeboxes of goodies for disadvantaged children, and we try to help them all.
Even members of the hard-core MC’s (some of whom may receive negative press sometimes during other parts of
the year) – band together, to play Santa for needy little kids.
Christmas time seems to
make all of us remember what it might have been like for us – waiting for time with families, love, and presents. So the entire biker community tries to step up to the plate during these events.
So BFC members were busy “literally around the planet”, going to various types
of Toy Runs and rallies, raising toys for the kids, needed items for the homeless, and trying to bless those who are struggling to “make it” in this life. We, as a motorcycle ministry are “both honored and blessed” to participate in these activities.
On the first Sunday in December, I asked one of my
assistant pastors to teach at Rushing Wind/BFC HQ so that I could join some of the San Diego BFC crew on an adventure to hit two toy runs in one day. This is about 300 miles roundtrip – and a long way from home for me.
I decided to ride the BFC Dyna (a two wheeler), in case
traffic backed up and we had to slowly split lanes through the
freeways that can look more
like parking lots. So on Saturday night I took out every bungee cord I had, and strapped toys “all over” the 2 bikes that were going (the BFC Dyna, and the BFC Chopper – which Jeff rode). It was kinda hilarious as there was barely
enough room for us to ride on them. But they looked “great” blasting down the highway with the toys hanging on for dear life !
On Sunday morning – Jeff and I woke up at o’dark thirty and jumped on the bikes, and the adventure began. We picked up Ricky Rockit, and we
were off.

Missionary Update
I know we live in So.
California, (and won’t get any sympathy- none needed) but in the early a.m. here you get a blanket of cold ocean’s fog. A few of us took the brisk ride up north to the first run.
This Toy Run was put on by one of the legendary 1%er clubs. Our BFC crew was greeted, and treated with
respect and love the entire day. W e ’ v e b e e n b u i l d i n g relationships with “all” of the 1% clubs in So. Cal. over the years, we pray for them all. I estimate there were 300-400 people there and numerous club patches. We were given “the tour” and met many new people, and ran into a lot of old
friends and acquaintances. I was blessed as I was able to pray for one of the Presidents of the host MC. As we chatted, he told me that he was going through some pretty difficult stuff. The Lord honored my prayers for him. The man thanked me when I was done praying, and I could “see”
genuine thanks in his countenance that a “real minister” would take the time to listen, and then pray for him. God gets the glory – I take the mistakes.
We also ran into my old friend Pastor Rick whom I’ve known since the 90s – from the Live Riders M/M. All of the
toys would be donated to their ministry to distribute to the
needy all over the SFV and
Ventura counties. Ricky Rockit and I got to talk with Robert Patrick (the famous actor). We
spent ½ the day there, passing
out tracts and business cards, and shaking a lot of hands. Then it was time to get the scoots ready for the next jaunt. There was still a bunch of toys in our saddlebags as we headed for Toy Run #2.
So we again bungee-tied more toys to the bikes and headed off for a “hardy and
quick ride” to the next stop, about 70 miles up the road to the next Toy Run.
Again we were greeted with respect and love, by the members of the M.C. (another large legendary club) that were hosting the event. Once more there was another huge group of people and different club
patches. They also were raising a pile of toys to go out
to the needy. We were greeted
by the President and the officers of the M.C., and shook a lot more hands. We passed out many more tracts to new people, and to our friends in the various clubs that were there.
It started getting cold and dark – which meant time to head for home. I was literally exhausted with my bad back
issues, but rejoicing that the Lord really used us that day to touch “many lives”.

BFC San Diego had a crazy Christmas party. It was well attended. The event was a complete success with the hard work of the staff, great food and fellowship. Santa Rick, and the
annual “White Elephant Gift
Exchange had us all in stitches!
We had a surprise visit by two guests of honor: BFC members

– Kurt and Joan Keys.
Although Kurt is severely handicapped, and wheelchair bound for now, he is very active ministering to others by email and on Facebook. We were all tickled to see him drive his chair in – as he had been bed-ridden for many years. His wife and sweetheart, Joan is a doll.

Cold weather isn’t great for my back issues , so I braced myself for the next adventure - heading for New York in the middle of December. God was really gracious in the weather department. The NY crew from BFC and Rushing Wind said that I must’ve brought San Diego weather with me. The
first few days were pretty mild in the 30’s (for NY - that’s a heat wave) then it started getting cooler, in the teens at night.
RW of Long Island, NY has a new building and the Lord is really moving in a powerful wat there. I stayed with an amazing couple, Keith
and Kat, they are both members of BFC and Rushing
Wind Long Island staff
members. Keith leads worship, and sings lead vocals in the Roadside Prophets – a great band. His wife, Kathleen heads up a beautiful flag/dance ministry. Their little daughter: Kristen (4 – I think) and I really hit it off. Kristin also does the flag/dance with her Mom. What a precious little doll. She hand-
wrote me a love-note when I left, I almost cried (great for my hard-core biker image ).
Pastor Joe and I even climbed on the bikes for a really brisk ride, armed with a bag of bread to go feed my little friends, the deer who gather at Mastic Beach on Long Island. There was a whole herd of
them.
The deer didn’t even wince as we pulled up on the loud bikes, yeah we took the
bikes because I
h a d never ridden a bike in New York in December (bragging rights with my biker bro’s back home - just kidding.) As soon as we pulled out the bag of bread they knew it was lunch-time! Joe and I took turns feeding and filming our little buddies. It was a highlight for me, they are adorable.

That afternoon we
delivered “Angel Tree” toys for the innocent children whose parents are incarcerated.
On Friday night we attended a NY MC’s Christmas party. I told the bro’s that I planned on meeting everyone that I could meet, and passing out a hundred “What are You Searching For” tracts (which I
did). Pastor Joe later sent me a personal letter, sharing: “that my boldness with the MC leaders was an inspiration to the BFC members there”. My motto has always been - “Tract them all, let God sort them out.”
The next day we went to a breakfast party hosted by a local chapter of a military MC,
and and a couple of others and myself passed out another 100 “Search” tracts. We were warmly received.
Later that afternoon we were invited to go to a home and pray with a former M/C member who was dying of cancer. It was a very emotional time for both Pastor Joe and
me, as there wasn’t much hope in the room, only tears. We went, and we prayed with both the man and his family. Again, I carefully and respectfully passed out a handful of “Search” tracts to the family, so they would know more about Jesus and BFC. Those that invited us were touched, and
comforted by our visit. Later
that day, the man
passed away. Pastor Joe was later asked to officiate at the memorial.
On Saturday night I attended “the Big Event” of the weekend the annual Christmas party that BFC hosted. Pastor Joe welcomed
hundreds of visitors, including many from the NY M/C’s. The “Roadside Prophets” rocked the house. I was humbled and blessed to be the speaker that evening
I spoke a little about my testimony, and BFC, then shared the Christmas story – along with a “state of the
nation” message that touched many in the room. Dozens of bikers (from veteran clubs, to other MC’s, and 1%ers) told me that the message “rang true” with the things that they’d been taught when they were younger.
My message helped “put pieces of the puzzles together”
for them in many areas. Again I was humbled and touched to be used by the Lord to minister to the people that gathered. More hugs and handshakes followed, mutual respect and love was left for the continued BFC ministry in NY.
Sunday evening I spoke at the new building for Rushing
Wind of Long Island. The place
was packed, I spoke on “being
the real deal”. Many were touched and hit the altar for prayer.
On Monday morning, Pastor Joe and I went on the local Christian radio program to share all that God had done throughout the weekend. We had an incredible time in the Lord… God Rulz !
There were so many other exciting things that happened around the country, in the month of December. I could never include them all. However next month I will document an “A-typical” church visit that Esther and I attended, that will blow you away. Plus news and pics from our “New
Year’s Eve Blowout” at RW/BFC HQ that the Lord completely blessed.
Until next time. We love and appreciate you all.
