Azerbaijan. You can enjoy beautiful nature, great historical cities and places of interest, especialy in capital - Baku city. !

BAKU

Transport in Baku!Heydar Aliyev International Airport is situated 25 km (15 min) from Baku city center.!Minibus 116 runs between the airport and city center. !The trip costs 0.40 AZN and takes over an hour.!London taxi cabs have been recently introduced in Baku, and travel fees are 0.70AZN per km. A taxi costs 4-10AZN for trips within the center of Baku, and to the airport cost 14AZN on the meter - albeit at 6am with little traffic.!Buses and minibuses cost 0.20AZN per person and can take you to almost any place within Baku. !The metro goes to many places throughout Baku and it costs only 0.20AZN. It is the least expensive way to get around Baku besides walking. Ask a cashier or attendant. You must obtain a Baku Metropolitan Kart !(2 AZN refundable deposit) and load it like a normal metro pass. ! !

WEATHER!!

Baku has a subtropical semi-arid climate with warm and dry summers, cool and occasionally wet winters, and strong winds all

year long. However, unlike many other cities with this climate, Baku does not see extremely hot summers. This is largely

because of its northerly latitude and the fact that it is located on a peninsula on the shore of the !

Caspian Sea.!At the same time Baku is noted as a very windy city throughout

the year, hence the city's nickname the "City of Winds", and gale-force winds, the cold northern wind khazri and the warm southern

wind gilavar are typical here in all seasons. !

PHONE CONNECTION!  

There are three major mobile phone operators currently in Azerbaijan: Azercell, Bakcell and Azerfon. Azercell, Bakcell

and Azerfon offer 2G, 3G and 4G services. All three networks are widely modern and reliable with shops located in major towns and cities where one can purchase a sim card or get

assistance if needed. Most unlocked mobile phones are able to be used on roaming however network charges apply. Azercell, Bakcell and Azerfon are often recommended to tourists due to the variety of tariffs available and the help

available in a variety of languages. !

Project

The project itself is about educating, playing games, share their culture, do some arts, spending time with orphans. EPs are going to make an enormous impact in a children's' lives !Each EP is going to have 1 national week belongs to his/hers country. EP is going to teach basic English through the own culture, games, traditions etc . The rest of the time EPs will be helping other EPs.!

Also on the last week of the internship EPs are going to participate in a big project "Global Village" where embassies and our current EPs are showing their culture, breaking stereotypes etc. to the people who are really interested.!For more info: h#ps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aF2-­‐gMJ-­‐mp4    

The aim of the Big Heart project is a real Impact in Orphans' lives !Statistic shows that only one out of ten orphans are able to create a life for himself after leaving the orphanage.!BUT:!By showing EPs love and making real friendship!By showing EPs new culture !By breaking all kind of stereotypes !By giving big love and Big Heart to orphans !We are together with EPs can sharply increase this  number  up to 10!!

Specifics:!Weekday work hours: 10:00 - 17:00!Saturday work hours: 10:00 - 15:00!Unpaid!

This matters to us because we believe that children can grow up in a healthy, nurturing

environment that EPs can show. !Our hope is to help every child realize that his

life matters!
