La France est divisée en 96 départements en Europe et 4 dans le

reste du monde. Ils ont tous un numéro.

So next time you see a French car on the road, look at the last two numbers of their number plate and you will know in which “département” they live such as this one!

La France dans le monde

As you can see on this map, France is not only in Europe but all around the world. All those places

have the same “président de la republique”…because they all are “la France”.

Some facts about France (in English 1st)

• For the past 26 years, every year, on the 21st of June, there has been “la fête de la musique”. Anyone can play anywhere in the country and not be arrested for making noise! There are also lots of free concerts around the country.It’s a lot of fun!

• France is the most visited country in the world (over 80 million tourists in 2007).

• Elle est divisée en régions et départements.

• Elle fait 550 000 kilomètres carrés (pratiquement le double du Royaume-Uni!)

• Il y a environ 60 millions de français en France (en Europe)

• Le président de la France s’appelle Nicolas Sarkozy et est d’origine hongroise.

• La révolution de 1789 a fait de la France une république.

• La France est un des pays fondateurs de l’Union européenne.
