Patent № 2447112 on September 10, 2010 "Polyether urethane composition"

Page 2: Bicomponent polyether urethane multifunctional coating

Type polyether urethane bicomponent multifunctional coating. No solvent is required.

Sphere of application:Designed for use as waterproof , anti-corrosion , anti-friction coating durable to protect the

metal surfaces of equipment (tanks , containers , tanks, fuel tanks , bilge , and truck etc.) in petrochemical, chemical, gas, electrical industry, aviation ,construction, shipbuilding, water supply systems, and other industries.

The coating can be used as internal and external waterproofing, as protection against corrosion of concrete structures, reinforced concrete modular and monolithic structures, wooden and metal constructions.

Due to the lack of water absorption and low permeability , high resistance to all types of hydrocarbons , elasticity , resistance to cracking at thermal and operational strain, coating based on prepolymer varnish can be used as an insulating material against hydrogen cracking during oil and gas production and transportation.

Coatings based on this varnish significantly reduce the formation of asphaltene-resin-paraffin deposits formed on the inner surface of oil-well tubing.

Principle, distinguishing features and usability

The composition of the varnish: polyether modified with vinyl monomers.The composition is prepared by simply mixing up varnish with hardener in a ratio of 5:1.Multifunctional coating has wide range of applications.Due to the properties of the product, it can be used as a protection of inner surface of oil well tubing and pipes for oil and gas refinery and chemical equipment. Coating prevents asphaltene-resin-paraffin deposits on inner surface of pipes.Coating can be used to cover the marine and river vessels.

Page 9: Bicomponent polyether urethane multifunctional coating

Principle, distinguishing features and usability

Reactive functional groups in the composition reacts with iron oxides (rust) located on the metal surface and form an additional chemical bond. This increases adhesion strength properties of the finished coating material. Coating is resistible to seawater, because of glossy shiny surface algae and living organisms can`t adhere to the surface of coating. The proposed composition provides lowest varnish consumption for insulation of metal surfaces, for example, a three-layer coating for metal consumes 80-100 g/m². This ensures Competitive ability of coating compared with counterparts.

Principle, distinguishing features and usability

Benefits and features • Has a high chemical resistance, close to PTFE;• The material is insoluble in organic solvents and virtually soluble in water;• Has the ability not to be wetted by water, and not to be impact of water at the very long-term test due to lack of water absorption;• Absolute stability in tropical conditions, is not damaged by fungi bacteria;• Bioresistant -100%;• Resistant to seawater;• Resistant to a variety of corrosive media at room and elevated temperature, resistant to hydrogen sulfide;• Has high elasticity;• It has a low coefficient of friction, low wear values ;• Good dielectric has a high dielectric strength 3500- 4000V for film with thickness 25 microns;• Resistant to growth on the surface asphaltene-resin-paraffin deposits;

Page 11: Bicomponent polyether urethane multifunctional coating

Principle, distinguishing features and usability

• The polymer has the ability to be strong, stable and fully functional in a temperature range from -80 to +150°C;

• The material has a low thermal conductivity;• The material has extreme resistance to hydrolysis;• The material is resistant to aging under normal conditions; the

warranty period of preservation of quality indicators is over 10 years.

• The material has adhesive strength of metal with metal, wood with metal, wood with wood, concrete with metal.

• Thickness of the coating 18-25 microns (thickness of three -layer coverage) provides the same strength as that of foreign and domestic analogues.

• Does not require cleaning the surface to shine, as it is required for all urethane coatings. In the process of covering

History of the development and application

Development of polyether urethane bio corrosion protection coating for main gas pipelines and processing equipment started at VNIIgas Institute, Baku in 1982. Developments have been made under the guidance of Head of Department of anticorrosive coatings Ph.D. Aliyev R.S. In the period from 1982 till 1992, a number of gas processing plants, such as Production Association Orenburggazzavod, Turkmengazprom, Uzbekgazprom, Ukrgasprom, Production Association Saratovtransgaz and others, began to apply polyether urethane coating to protect process equipment and apparatuses against corrosive gases and chemical corrosion. Test Certifications of the above companies attached.Further work was suspended due to perestroika and the collapse of the USSR. In 2007, the pilot tests of the coating were resumed at Azerneft’s drilling platforms at the Caspian Sea. Coating was applied for insulation of inner surface of oil well tubing. This reduced energy consumption by 15-30%, significantly reduced consumption of inhibitors of asphaltene-resin-paraffin deposits. Inhibitors of corrosion were no more required. Daily well production increased by 50-80%.

History of the development and application

In 2010, the coating was patented in Rospatent of Russian Federation as №2247112 "Polyether urethane composition". Polyether urethane coating successfully introduced at objects of "Kazanorgsintez" JCS since 2010. Internal metal structures of the confuser of cooling tower, concrete surfaces of the bottom inner part of cooling tower, as well as the blades and the inner parts of the centrifugal pumps serving cooling tower were covered by polyether urethane coating. Applying of composition has given positive results. Test certificates attached. In January 2013 prototypes of oil well tubing covered with Polyether urethane coating were tested at "VNIITneft" LLC, Samara. According to Test Report on February 20, 2013, polyether urethane coating was recommended for full-scale tests without operational restrictions on pipes providing secure end fitting. Polyether urethane coating may be prospectively used to protect lengthy flexible steel oil well tubing and drill pipes.

ПРОБЛЕМЫExamples of use

In 2013, a pilot batch of paint was developed based on polyether urethane coating. Bottom part of the boat was covered by the paint at Butyakov ship repair

plant, Zvenigovo, Mari El.

Page 19: Bicomponent polyether urethane multifunctional coating

ПРОБЛЕМЫExamples of use

For that purpose bottom part of the boat was cleaned of dirt and old paint. Firstly, polyether urethane universal varnish was applied as a primer. Then, the paint was applied on the surface of primer the next day. Painted surface became glossy and

smooth after coating. Cover only smoldering, but does not burn under electric welding.
