Company History-BSL, formerly known as Bhushan Steel & Strips Ltd, was established in January 1983 under the name of Jawahar Metal Industries Pvt Ltd. The company changed its name to BSSL in 1992 and got its current name in April 2007. The company got listed on the BSE on September 2000. BSL produces cold rolled coil, cold rolled sheet, galvanized, galume, color coated coil, color coated tiles/ profile sheet, drawn tubes of OEM grade, hardened & tempered steel strips, high tensile steel strapping used for packaging, wire rods and alloy billets and sponge iron. It also produces zinc cold rolled products of iron or non‐alloy steel flat coated with zinc, cold‐rolled products of iron or non‐alloy steel and flat cold‐rolled products of iron or non‐alloy steel of a thickness of less than 0.5 millimeters.
Company History (Cont’d)-In FY10, the company manufactured 1.16 mn tonnes of cold rolled steel strips/ sheets/ coils, 531,149 tonnes of cold rolled galvanized steel strips/ sheets/ coils, 97,593 tonnes of color coated galvanized steel strips/ sheets/ coils 106,101 tonnes of precision tubes, 400,619 tonnes of sponge iron and 299,083 tonnes of billets. BSL’s subsidiaries includes Bhushan Steel Global FZE, Bhushan Steel (Australia) Pty Ltd, Bowen Energy Ltd, Kondor Holdings Pty Ltd, Bowen Coal Pty Ltd, Bowen Consolidated Pty Ltd, Capricorn Metals Ltd, Capricorn Resources (Australia) Ltd, Golden Country Resources (Australia) Pty Ltd and Bowen Energy (Asia) Pte Ltd.-Demand for BSL’s products is largely from automobile and white goods/ domestic appliances and general engineering industries. The company's clients include Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Hindustan Motors, General Motors, Ford Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Ashok Leyland, LG Electronics, Whirlpool, Samsung Electronics, Godrej, Voltas, IFB, Electrolux group, SKF Bearing, Crompton Greaves, Philips India, BHEL, L&T, Bajaj Auto, Honda Motorcycle, etc.

Policy on Corporate Governance
The Company is committed to attain the highest standard of Corporate Governance. It recognizes that the Board is accountable to all the Stockholders for good governance. The philosophy of the Company in relation to Corporate Governance is to ensure transparency in all its operations, make appropriate disclosure and enhanced shareholders value without compromising in anyway and in compliance with laws and regulations.
Activities pertaining to CSRAs a part of its CSR activities, Bhushan Steel Limited, Dhenkanal
conducted a health camp and provided free consultation, medicines to the patients of all age groups.
It also held an immunization drive for children in Shibapur village. At the health camp, as many as 56 patients were examined. Most of them are affected my anemia and skin disease. In the first mobile health camp, the company’s doctor BK Parija examined patients and provided free medicine.
The patients were treated for severe anemia, eye and skin infections, cough, cold, fever, body pain, worms, wounds and stomach infections by BSL's medical panel.This effort by BSL will be continued every month to extend medical care to the people in all of its seven periphery villages in Dhenkanal district and four villages of Angul district.
