Henry VIII is thinking about how to rule England

Your Father

Henry won the throne when he de-

feated Richard III at the Battle of

Bosworth Field. He was the last

king of England to win his throne

on the field of battle.

He was successful in restoring the

power and stability of the English

monarchy after the political up-

heavals of the Wars of the Roses.

He founded a long-lasting dy-

nasty and, after a reign of nearly

24 years, was peacefully suc-

ceeded by his son, you.

Trust

Advisers

Make sure you know who

you are dealing with

when trusting someone

that might affect your

whole life. Like us. Since

we have been ordered

by your father we are

trustworthy.

Things You’ll regret

Things you’ll regret are

if you quarrel with the

barons or the churchman.

Elizabeth of York (11 February

1466 – 11 February 1503) was

Queen consort of England as

spouse of King Henry VII from

1486 until 1503. Elizabeth of York

was a:

daughter

sister

niece,

wife

and mother

of English monarchs for example

you and your father and that re-

spectively.

Parliament

Parliament grew

stronger over the

years. It is uniq and

you will take great in-

terest in the progress

of this. You will have to

follow the Magna

Karta.

Church

The church likes to be in

control and collect money.

Watch out for the

archbishop of Canterbury.

He can be quite scurry

and might excommunicate

you from church.

War

War is one of the most

important times of Kingship.

Fight for your throne or

you’ll die.

Decisions

As a King you need to cooperate

with the barons and make a lot

of right decisions in your life. For

example who will be the best

bride. Your wife needs to be fer-

tile, know how to cook, obey your

orders, but also be strong

minded and have a delicate bal-

ance. Also you need to get to

know who you are dealing with

when fighting battle.

Think before you act and plan

your battle strategies carefully.

Have good relationships with

everyone especially with the

pope.

Some important tasks as a King

are to be loyal to your subjects

and always involve important

people in your decisions and to

keep your Kingdom United.
