When Arnold’s malt shop is threatened with being torn down and replaced with something called a “mall,” the Fonz says “ixnay, mayday, no way, José”, and the town rallies to save their favorite hang-out with a dance fundraiser. Dig out your white socks, high-water jeans and poodle skirts for this family-friendly musical that will take you back to Sunday, Monday, Happy Days…………. In fact, Scrooge feels all of humanity is a humbug, and his staunch reluctance to help anyone less fortunate than himself is how he expresses his humbuggery. It will take the Christmas night visits of otherworldly spirits to remind him of the power of love and kindness to transform the world. A delightful musical adaptation of Charles Dickens’ holiday treasure, A Christmas Carol will warm and inspire even the scroogiest of hearts! Music by Alan Menken, composer of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Newsies and Little Shop of Horrors. Audition date: August 27, 2017 MCT Premiere Night: October 26, 2017 A musical theatre production based on an album by a Swedish pop/dance group? Mamma Mia, that’s a big undertaking! The popularity of ABBA’s music helped make it one of the longest-running shows on Broadway. A young woman about to be married wants her father to walk her down the aisle. But who IS he? To find out, she secretly invites the three suiters from her mother’s past to the Greek island where she lives. It will be a challenge to remain seated as the lively dance numbers and familiar music fills the theatre with “Knowing Me, Knowing You,” “Dancing Queen” and the title song “Mamma Mia!” The show contains some adult themes and situations that may not be suitable for young children.
