The Ministry of the Childrens Sabbath School LeaderYou have been asked to serve as a Childrens Sabbath School leader. This is a wonderful opportunity to help disciple childrenconnecting them to a life-long loving relationship to Jesus. The GraceLink Curriculum is used. This has been designed for faithdevelopment Bible-based and focused on the key understandings and practice of Grace, Worship, Community and Service.This guide has been designed to help you get started in this ministry.

Accountable To:A childs MinistriesLeader, Sabbath School Council and the Childrens Committee.

Specific Responsibilities: Set the goals for the Sabbath School.

Organize and lead the Sabbath School programs/themes, room decorations, purchasing and storage ofresources/GraceLink Teachers Guides and childrens Bible Study Guides, delegation of teachers responsibilities, ensureTotal Hour teaching happens.

Equip and support the teachers meet regularly for planning, organize yearly Sabbath School training and regularlyencourage/thank them.

Organizes volunteers from youth and older members.

Work with Childrens Ministries Coordinator and childrens committee to set a budget. Work with Childrens Ministries Coordinator and childrens committee to integrate all church activities and plan a yearly

calendar of family-friendly events and parent outreach. Maintain and update childrens files contact details, attendance and birthdays. Ensure volunteers are screened and have completed child-safety forms; ensure the room environment is safe.

Ministry CoordinationDelegates and coordinates:

Nurturing ministry: Greet and welcome children and parents; send get-well and birthday cards; visit sick children; buildstrong community; organize weekly snacks and regular potlucks; ensure children have quality discussion time in groupsof approx. five.

Serving ministry: Empower children to serve the church, home and community use ideas from GraceLink TeachersGuide.

Outreach:Encourage children to invite friends to Sabbath School.

Family ministry: Organize visitation so that each child receives a home visit at least once a year; equip and supportparents to use GraceLink at home.

Worship ministry:Choose songs, musicians; provide a place where children can have a quiet time with God; ensurechildren, Sabbath School teachers and volunteers pray for each other and the Sabbath School.

A Message for Beginner Leaders and Teachers

This Beginner Program and Lesson Plans have been compiled by the Childrens Ministries Department of Central Papua

Conference to help the Beginner Class Leaders and Teachers to teach a complete Total Hour Teaching, of the GraceLinkcurriculum.The Lesson plans have been organized and arranged according to the Learning Cycle of the Total Hour Teaching whichcompromises of these specific parts.

Readiness Prayer and Praise Bible Lesson Applying the Lesson Sharing.

The Beginners Class has also four segments to the Total Hour Teaching of the Bible Study Guide. Below are the segmentsinvolved in the Teaching of the Lesson beginning with the first segment and finishes with the closing part. The four segments toteaching the Beginners Class are:

Every Beginner Leader or Teacher must look through the program and Lesson plan during the week and prepare teachingmaterials and aids mentioned in the program. You gain confidence by studying through the Lesson plan and getting yourselforganized to teach on every Sabbath.As a Teacher or Leader for the Beginners class or Division you are required to plan and write Lesson Plans for you to teach everyQuarter. Because the Beginner class has a Bible Lesson to cover for a month, you are required to write three Lesson Plans for aQuarter. Writing Lesson plans will help you teach the lesson using the Total Hour Teaching cycle on page 12.You will use the Beginner Teachers Guide to complete the Lesson Plans.

To be an effective Leader and Teacher, you need to study all the details in the Lesson plan considering the Bible references,Beginner Bible Study Guide, Beginner Teacher-Leader Guide and most of all, your Bible. These resources will help prepare youfor your task every Sabbath.Help yourself to be creative and learn to create your own Sabbath School resources that will also develop your Teaching Skillsand make you a better Teacher and Leader that the Children wont forget but will create long lasting Memories in their lives.
