Experience

Your experience is your resume. Make sure you include titles,

experience, successes, jobs, positions, etc. Be concise and choose your words carefully. Make it success oriented.

Use examples of successes. People relate to stories. Don’t just

say “managed” or “sold to”, say why your customers/manager were happy with you, your service or product.

Think Sales, Marketing, Problem Solving – You are the product and the solution.

Get Recommendations

Edit Profile > Get Recommended > On Recommendation Page > Request Recommendation > Click on which company or school, who you are asking and personalize the subject and request.

Tip: Ask people for recommendations. Offer to write the recommendation of yourself for them and suggest they put it in their own words. Get at least 5 to 10. Email your request directly instead of asking through LI or call (what a concept).

Resume”, My Blog, etc. Go to your resume or website, copy the

web address on the address bar, then past here. Make sure you use http://

Groups & Associations – name all you participate in or have – this is also where your LI groups will be listed automatically if you checked that off
