Lagerlof is a fantastic book. It is about a naughty boy called Nils who learns to be a better person.

Nils is lazy and likes doing bad things. He is very cruel to animals. One day an elf turns him into a tiny boy. Nils flies away with some wild geese and they travel all over Sweden. Nils has many adventures and learns to be kind and thoughtful.

The book was written in Swedish in 1906. Since then children all over the world have enjoyed it. Now you can get in in English and many other languages, including Russian, Korean, and Japanese. In Japan they made the book into an animated movie, which is now available in many languages.

While reading

I like the book because it is exciting. You also learn a lot about the geography and culture of Sweden. I think most children, and even adults, will enjoy this book, but it is quite long.
