The 4-H Chick Chain project is designed to teach 4-H members to grow and raise chickens. This year in Calhoun County we had 8 families participate. Participants paid a $25 deposit and were given 10 pullets (female chicks) in May to raise for 21 weeks. Participants will bring two of their best pullets to the show and auction. By bringing the pullets, the $25 deposit will be re-turned. The chicks will then be shown and auctioned off. Anyone may buy the chicks, the partici-pants themselves or even you! Come to Fall Fest and check it out. Registration for the 2016 Chick Chain project will begin in March 2016. Be on the lookout for more details.
