Designing Your Telesummit’s Website Now it’s time to design your Telesummit’s Website! This is where you take your message and translate it into a beautiful site that conveys your mission for your summit and that is inviting to your ideal Telesummit participants. You want to have as many people opt-in to your Telesummit and in order to do so you’ll need to create a great, well-functioning site with nice graphics and great copy that informs visitors of what transformation they’ll receive by opting in to your Telesummit. Here’s what you’ll need…

Your Dream Team Your Dream Team will depend on which tasks you’d like to delegate and how tech savvy you are. Most summit hosts will seek out the services of some or all of these folks. You choose which you need (See the List of Superstar Service Providers doc).

Graphic Designer: From a simple banner to designing your summit’s branding, a great graphic designer will create a beautiful visual representation of your message and vision. Copywriter: If writing is not your strong suit, a copywriter can help you write some or all of your copy including your Sales page, your Upgrade Page and even help you write a script for your video. VA/Telesummit Producer: Telesummit VAs are not just assistants, they can actually produce the entire summit from inviting speakers, to using Wordpress to manage the tech piece of your summit, to managing and executing the daily activities necessary to host your summit. It will be up to you to choose how much or how little you’ll want to delegate to a VA/Telesummit Producer. Web Designer: If you choose to work with a web designer, make sure that they have produced at least one Telesummit before. Telesummits are unique in that there are lots of moving pieces and specific pieces that must be included from a web design perspective that most web designers will not be familiar with. In most cases, you can get your site up and running by working with a Graphic Designer and a good tech savvy VA/Telesummit Producer. Add a Video to Your Page and Increase Your Opt-ins by Approximately 50% You can increase your Telesummit opt-ins by an estimated 50% by adding a video to your Sales page. People connect to videos much more than they do written words and they are a powerful medium on which to convey your message. It’s best to include a video that is between one to two minutes. You may lose some of your audience if you make your video much longer than two minutes.

Connect with your audience by sharing a bit about you - who you are, what you do and perhaps even how you’ve overcome the obstacle your Telesummit will help them overcome. Tell them when the summit will begin, how they can sign up for the summit and how signing up will benefit them. Mention any bonuses they will receive when they register for your summit. Put some effort into producing a nice video with good lighting and make sure you are presenting yourself well on camera. It’s also a good idea to write down what you’re going to say or at least have some bullet points to refer to when you’re shooting the video. The video should be visible when your page loads, preferably next to the opt-in box. Make it easy for your visitors to access both the video as well as the opt-in box without having to scroll down the page.

Your Key Telesummit Pages Sales Page: (http://ivyleagueloveacademy.com) This is the main page your prospective Telesummit participants will see and it needs to have the following elements in order to convert well (or for you to get as many subscribers as possible opt-in to your summit):

§ Great graphics (or at least a great banner with your Telesummit’s name and title) § Opt-in box (connected to your email service provider which will store your email subscribers and

from which you’ll communicate with them – (see Email Service Provider in the Tech Resources doc)

§ Great copy speaking directly to your ideal client or those you’ll be helping with your summit’s theme/message

§ A good video. A great video may raise your conversion rate by 50%. Your audience will connect more to your message if it’s conveyed via video vs. written copy alone. I highly recommend you

take some time to create a video that is between one to two minutes that speaks directly to those you’d like to participate in the Telesummit. You can begin by speaking about your own journey – this is a great way to build trust and connection. Don’t forget to also talk about what your summit will offer in terms of the transformation you’ll be providing them if they choose to join you.

§ It’s also a good idea to feature pictures of your speakers and the topic they’ll each be covering to

make it more attractive to your prospective subscriber. If you’re offering registration bonuses, add them along with a graphic for each bonus to your Sales page, as this will also help you convert more visitors. At least one of your opt-in graphics (if you add more than one to your sales page) should be “above the fold” meaning visible when your page loads. Your prospective participants shouldn’t have to scroll down in order to opt-in to your Telesummit. It should take as little effort as possible for them to provide you their email. Your video should also be visible when your page loads. “Thank You”/Upgrade Page: (http://ivyleagueloveacademy.com/upgrade) This is the page that pops up after your participant has opt-ted into your teleseummit informing them of their next steps and (highly recommended) offering your Upgrade packages. A great Upgrade page should have the following elements:

§ Compelling sales copy that highlights the benefit of upgrading or purchasing the entire series as opposed to listening for free – including details of what they will receive when they purchase your package(s)

§ Great graphics (or your summit’s banner) § Upgrade package details (what’s included)

Page 8: Become a - Sandra Fidelissandrafidelis.com/.../Module-3_Designing-Promoting_Become-a-Tele… · pieces that must be included from a web design perspective that most web designers

  7

§ Pre-sale or ongoing sales information and deadline § Adding your speakers and their respective topic is also a great addition to your page. § If you’re offering any Upgrade package bonuses, include them on your page with graphics, as

bonuses are a great way to increase sales. § (Optional) You can also add another video to your Upgrade page to increase conversions.

Replay Page: (http://ivyleagueloveacademy.com/replays) If you choose to host all your replays on one page, this will be it. You can also choose to create one page for each speaker’s replay, but I highly suggest you consolidate all speakers’ replays into one page. It will save you and your VA time and effort. Another option to hosting your replays is to do it directly through a tool such as Instant Teleseminar if you’d like to circumvent the replay page altogether. A few key elements you should add to your replay page are: Speaker’s name, picture, Talk Title, Speaker Bio, the Replay, link to Speaker Offers, link to Free gift from speakers, if any. (Each speaker should have his or her own separate section, which your VA can format for you). Membership/Download Page(s): This is the page you will use to host downloads of your Upgrade package. Those who have purchased your Upgrade package(s) will be able to access this password protected page(s) WP eMember is an inexpensive, one-time payment Plug In that will allow you to create password-protected membership pages). How to Broadcast a Telesummit As we discussed in an earlier section, there are so many options to broadcasting a Telesummit. You can broadcast Live using an Audio or Video platform or you can pre-record either delivery method. You’ll find technical resources to broadcast your summit however you wish in the Tech Resources document you’ve been provided with this program. From a pre-recorded mp3 that you deliver through tool such as

  8

Instant Teleseminar with an Autopilot feature, to a Live Webcast hosted on Google Hangout, your broadcasting options are many. Refer to the format you chose in Module 1 (Live vs. Pre-Recorded and Audio vs. Video) and use the Tech Resource document to pick your broadcasting tools.

Running the Back-end Section of Your Site I highly recommend you work with a VA or Telesummit producer to create the back end part of your summit. This will save you time - and time, as you’ll see, will become a valuable commodity for you as you create your summit. By back-end I mean setting up everything that you’ll use to actually run the summit vs. promoting the summit (including your Replay and Download pages). Shopping Cart: Allows you to sell your Upgrade package. You can create individual products and price them as desired. Your shopping cart will also deliver your digital products to those who purchase. Membership: Allows you to create password-protected pages that will be accessed by those who have purchased your Upgrade package. Affiliate Management: Allows you to create an individual link that tracks each speaker’s promotional efforts. It also allows you to track and make commission payments to your speakers on any Upgrade sales that were made through the speaker’s affiliate link. (I highly recommend WP eMember, eStore and WP Affiliate PlugIns to manage these processes. You can also use software such as 1Shoppingcart or a standalone shopping cart tool such as SendOwl to sell your upgrade package.(See “Tech Resources” doc for details).

Promoting Your Telesummit If you only remember one thing from this entire program, I want you to remember this: The promotion agreements you’ve made with your speakers must be upheld. This will be one of the most important factors in your summit’s success. I attribute the success of each on my summits, both from a list building as well as profitability standpoint, to the fact that I listened to this advice when it was given to me.

§ I defined my promotional requirements of each speaker § I communicated them clearly and received a written agreement from each speaker § I tracked their promotional efforts § I even parted ways with speakers who did not hold up their end of the agreement

Again, your summit’s success will largely rest in your ability to manage this piece of the process. Make sure that if a speaker is going to be featured on your Telesummit, that they have agreed to your requirements – especially your promotion requirements.

Promoting Your Telesummit In all of the Telesummits I’ve created and hosted, I have required 2 Solo email promotions from each speaker. A Solo email promo is one where the speaker or affiliate sends out a dedicated email that invites their community to register for your event. This is not a newsletter announcement where they add your event to their newsletter. A Solo email is a dedicated email that is sent out speaking only about your event. Since it’s your summit, you decide what your promotion requirements will be, but I highly, I repeat, highly suggest that you require at least one Solo email from speakers in order to be featured. The caveat to this requirement is you making an exception for a speaker who you would really love to feature on your summit who absolutely will not send out Solos to their email community. Since you’re the organizer, you choose whether or not to make an exception, but most of your speakers should at least be sending out one Solo email to their entire email community. Social media promotions do not even come close to the conversion you’ll receive from a dedicated email promo, neither will newsletter blurbs. Which is why at least one dedicated Solo email promotion is critical to the success of your Telesummit. You can choose any combination of promotion requirements – from 2 Solo email promos to one Solo and one newsletter blurb/Social Media promo to anything your little heard desires. Establish what feels right to you but do remember that whatever promotional requirement you choose, you must enforce it. You’ll also be promoting your speakers by sending email notifications to your Telesummit list highlighting them and their respective topic before the interview airs. You’ll likely also feature your speaker in your Replay email if you’ve chosen to open replays after the interview airs.

  11

How Long to Promote You want to give your speakers a good, comfortable window to send their first Solo email promo. Therefore, you should begin promoting your Telesummit no less than one week to 10 days before your summit’s launch date. If you’re requiring a second Solo email promotion, you can either make the initial promo window wider to allow your speakers to send two emails before the summit begins or you can allow your speakers to send the second Solo email after the summit begins (see the “Ultimate Speaker Spreadsheet” for tracking of speaker promos). Promotional Email Templates I’ve included a list of promotional emails in the Email Templates & Examples doc – it includes sample summit promotional emails, newsletter promos as well as social media promos (see “Email Templates & Examples”).

Mindset Now let’s talk about the limiting beliefs that have been awakened by this section. What are some of the limiting thoughts that have popped up? I’m not tech savvy, how can I pull this off? Or I don’t look good on video, what if my video looks terrible?

List all of the limiting thoughts you’ve had about creating a beautiful site for your summit and running your summit like a pro: Now list two or more reasons as to why each of these thoughts aren’t true:
