I. Men are more interested in the youngest maiden than her two older sistersI. In Beauty and the Beast, a man who came to see the family asked about Beauty and asked

her to marry him, he did not ask her sisters II. In Eros and Psyche, Psyche’s older sisters teased her because so many boys liked her and

asked her to marry them, but nobody asked the sisters

II. The two older sisters are “evil” (mean) to the maiden I. In Beauty and the Beast, the older sisters were mean and made her do all the work II. In Eros and Psyche, they bullied her just because men liked her better

III. The two older sisters insult the younger sister because of her beauty (terrible insults, might I add)

I. In Beauty and the Beast, they teased her II. In Eros and Psyche, they bullied her by calling her beautiful (weirdo's)

IV. The young maiden wishes to marry because of loveI. In Beauty and the Beast, she tells a man that she will not marry him because she wishes to

marry for love, not money II. In Eros and Psyche, Psyche says that she wishes to marry out of love

V. The maidens family is poor I. In Beauty and the Beast, the father’s business is not going anywhere and he is poor II. In Eros and Psyche, her father cannot help her because he is poor and weak

VI. The beautiful maiden is sent or goes to a “beast”I. In Beauty and the Beast, the maiden goes to the beast to take her fathers place II. In Eros and Psyche, she is sent to the beast because she is too beautiful

VII. She is only supposed to see the beast at nightI. In Beauty and the Beast, he tells her that she must only see him at their 7 pm dinner II. In Eros and Psyche, he only visits her at night

VIII. She begs to see her family and he lets her I. In Beauty and the Beast, her father becomes ill and she begs to see him II. In Eros and Psyche, she wishes to see her family and they visit her

IX. He watches her when she does not know it I. In Beauty and the Beast, he watches her while she sleeps II. In Eros and Psyche, he visits her but is invisible and he watches her
