Course: Project Work
GUIDELINES FOR PROJECT WORK:
1. All reviews must be attended by all the students, failing which marks
will be reduced.
2. The students shall have continuous interaction with their respective
guide.
3. Review reports shall be submitted for every review and it must be
original contribution of the students.
4. Students shall prepare an error free presentation for the review.
5. The PPTs shall convey only important concepts in the form of points.
6. Students have to maintain log book showing their attendance in the
field work. If the field work is over, attendance must be recorded at the
University.
7. A soft copy of the project update shall be submitted to the guide every
week (Weekly report) and every month (Consolidated Monthly report) which
will also be reviewed by the guide.
8. Total number of pages of the Project report shall be about 50 pages.
GUIDELINES FOR PREPARING THE PROJECT REPORT:
The Project Report shall be organized into three parts as given below:
I. PRELIMINARY SECTION.
II. MAIN REPORT SECTION.
III. SUPPLEMENTARY SECTION.
(The contents of each section are explained below in detail.)

Note: 1. ** The numbering of pages for the preliminary section must be in

1. The material shall be gathered neatly and represented properly. Spell checker
shall be used to avoid spelling and language mistakes.
2. The figures shall be numbered properly as [Fig 1: Architecture] and the
numbers shall run in a sequence. It shall be stated properly in the content.
3. Subtitles shall be numbered and written properly

Titles 14pt Comic Sans
Subtitles 12pt Arial
Sub-subtitles 12pt Century Gothic
The contents shall be written in Time New Roman 12pt.
Use 1.5 spacing for typing the text
4. Follow decimal system of numbering for Chapter / section / subsection etc.,
for example:
3.0 Chapter
3.1 Section
3.1.1. Subsection
Bold and italic letters for subsection titles and bold letters for section titles
shall be used.
BOLD and CAPITAL letters for chapter titles shall be used.
5. The Table of Contents page shall be after the Synopsis page. It shall give the
topic name and the corresponding page number
6. In the Preliminary Section, Roman numerals (lower case i, ii, etc.,) shall be
used.
7. The page numbers for the main section of the report shall start from the first
page of the Introduction chapter as 1, 2, 3 …. Page numbers shall be bottom
centered.
8. If a separate page is used for displaying the title of the chapter, then it must be
included in the page numbering. However the page number need not be
displayed in the bottom of the page.
9. All sample documents more than one or two pages shall be included in the
respective “Appendix section”.
10. Students shall also submit the report in CD along with full source code.
11. Four copies of the final approved report in spiral binding shall be submitted.
12. The students are advised to adhere to the guidelines.
13. Marks will be awarded purely based on the performance.
14. Submit the final copy of the report to the guide on or before 04.04.2011
