BCG Attorney Search Reports Over 3,000 Attorney Jobs as Jobs ReportShows 171,000 Jobs Created in October

Reflecting the upswing in the economy, BCG Attorney Search has found over 3,000 attorney jobopenings.

Pasadena, CA (PRWEB) November 05, 2012 -- The final BLS report before the presidential election shows that171,000 nonfarm jobs were created in the economy. Reflecting the overall growth in the economy, BCGAttorney Search has also found over 3,000 attorney job openings.

Most media reports regarding the legal industry are full of stories of recent law graduates struggling to find jobsand being underemployed in jobs that do not require a JD. But BCG Attorney Search CEO Harrison Barnessays that lawyers with the right skills are still in demand. “We keep getting requests from our clients for IPlawyers, and most of them want lawyers with a technical background.” BCG Attorney Search is currentlyworking towards filling 778 attorney jobs in the IP and patent practice areas for its clients.

The legal services sector remained virtually unchanged in October according to the BLS report. In the last 12months, 6,600 legal jobs have been added.

BCG recruiters have also seen increased demand by law firms who want experienced corporate attorneys. Oneof the main areas for jobs in this sector is the Chicago market. BCG is in the process of recruiting 574 attorneysfor firms in Chicago, out of which 113 will be corporate attorneys. BCG’s Chicago-based Jamie Bailey, who isin charge of the Midwest region for the firm says “Corporate transactional practices are getting busier and muchlike the first quarter, we have seen continued need for transactional associates in Chicago.” There are 769corporate attorney jobs that the BCG recruiters are trying to fill up currently.

Litigation and real estate are the two other major practice areas that have seen increased openings. There are497 litigation attorney job openings and 224 real estate attorney jobs that the firm is trying to fill up for itsclients.
