10 Good morning Area, I stand here once again asking and pleading for support from this body to help The HOW Group stay alive. Our eating meeting on Friday, while really wonderful, only gained a few more addicts than our average attendance just a year ago. We will continue to hold the eating meetings on the first Friday for the foreseeable future, but we only took in $24 dollars in 7th

Tradition and that money is NOT used to hold our eating meetings, it’s pretty tough to pay rent and supplies and donate to area on those kinds of numbers. We as a home group can only surmise that the reason for such low attendance is the overabundance of meetings in north county. We also have to assume that those meetings are also struggling, or maybe not. It’s hard to know since we are busy keeping our meeting open at the same time. What is very clear to us is there are more meetings than ever and the flood of new meetings is still rising. On that note, we ask, are we as an area doing all we can to ask new meetings before they decide to come before the area, if they have really looked into other established meetings in the same area, if those meetings could be better served? We wonder when enough will be enough? Just because we say “calm down, stop starting new meetings” does not mean we are trying to withhold the message to the newcomer. What we are saying is, “hey there are so many meetings, surely the newcomer can find an established meeting to attend and grown in and support” Coming to the area and blindly passing new meetings into area is becoming irresponsible and setting up them and others to fail in the end, and who is that helping? Just some Sunday morning “food for thought” just something that might help the GSR’s in this room to take back to their home groups to talk about. Please keep in mind, The HOW Group is 30 years old, THIRTY, and we are hurting, do you really want the next meeting to suffer and struggle to be yours?? In loving service, Kelly F., HOW Group GSR and 12 year home group member Happy and Free

3 years on 5/8 and Tommy K. on 4 yrs. on 5/12 (celebrating on 5/13)! We are continuing to try to figure out why there are discrepancies with our financial records, and therefore, are still not able to make a donation to BASCNA. 2014. The Florida Region RD Mark B and AD Bob L were in attendance. The RD & AD reported the following CAR CAT voting results: Motion 1: for the new IP #29 passes Motion 2: to limit attendance at WSC to only Regional Delegate from each region fails Motion 3: for NAWS to no longer automatically fun regional delegates to WSC fails Motion 4:> Motion 5:> Service system proposal does carry with strong support Motion 6:> As a note, here’s a brief explanation: CAR motions result in Yes or No results (Pass or Fail) CAR motions support result in strong support. The remaining CAR & CAT results will be reported at Florida Regional Service Conference, which will be held on May 16 until at which time the RCM & RCM II will communicate the results. Any GSR that would like to attend the Florida Regional Service Conference notify the RCM Team. Submitted ILS, Denise F., RCM Dathan J., RCM II Administrative No issues needed discussed within Admin, all reports from Subcommittees’ will be given on the floor. After contacting several groups that have not attended ASC, there is a consistent theme behind the lack of attendance. No GSR, Group believes it is too small and not deserving of a voice and the stereotype that ASC is a circus. The two latter reasons I’ve addressed with the groups and requested that they attend ASC to gain new perspective. An ad-hoc is being formed to begin attending these groups for support. Activities Good morning everyone. The bowling event was very successful with a large turnout. We still have tickets available for the Rays Night Out June 16th – tickets are $39. See Jay M or myself for tickets. Also we are hosting a skate night May 21st at Astro Skate on 66th St. Admission is $6 which does not include skate rental 8pm – 11pm. ILS, Brian H.
