Basics of How to Approve a Proposal in Coeus

STEP 1: Get Email

STEP 2: Log into Coeus and go to Inbox

STEP 3: Find and Review Proposal

STEP 4: Approve OR Reject

Hyperlink will open to the CoeusLite log-in

screen

You will receive a message in your regular UC e-Mail inbox informing you there is a Coeus proposal

for you to review.

Be sure to set your email so messages from [email protected] don’t

go into your “junk” email folder.

You must be in UC’s network to access CoeusLite.

Enter your UC Central Login and password

Step 2

Navigate to Inbox

Step 2

Inbox opens to Unresolved Messages

Select anywhere on the blue title or

number to open the Approver Summary

screen

Select where you want to go

next

Back to Inbox - Return to the Inbox

Proposal Details - Navigate to the full proposal

Approval Routing -

View the Approval Routing Map

Approve - Approve the proposal

Reject - Reject the proposal

Step 3

Further down the page you can review budget

information – including cost share

Select “View” for any

document you wish to open

Documents not submitted to the sponsor are uploaded to

Internal UC Documents.

Step 3

From here you can review the proposal

Note: You are in “view only” mode. If you have comments you may enter them later in the “approve”

or “reject” screen.

Select what you want to review If the Grants.gov

logo is in upper right corner, you

can view the entire

Grants.Gov package

Step 3

When the Grants.gov screen opens, select

the forms you wish to view.

Then click “Print Selected Forms” to generate a PDF of

the Grants.gov package which you can print, save or

just view.

First, Select

Grants.gov from

the menu to

open the Grants.gov detail screen.

To Print a Grants.gov proposal

When the Print detail screen

opens, select the forms you wish to

view.

Then click Print Selected Forms to generate a PDF of the proposal which you can print, save

or just view.

First, Select Print

from the menu to open the

Print detail screen.

To Print a non-Grants.gov proposal

Step 3

You can see the routing and note who has

approved (or rejected) as well as who has yet to review the proposal.

Step 4

You can add comments about the proposal here.

Click to approve. The proposal will route to the next person/people on

the list.

Step 4

Click to reject. The proposal routing will stop and all prior approvals will be

deleted.

You MUST add a comment to reject a

proposal.

Step 4

eMail will be sent if the proposal is

rejected.

Comments will explain what needs

to be changed before

resubmitting for approval.

After a proposal is rejected and the recommended changes are made, then the approval process starts

again.
