Use a passcode for security
• For better security, you can set a passcode that must be entered each time you turn on or wake up iPad.
• Go to Settings > Passcode and set a 4-digit passcode.
• Do not forget your passcode, or you will have to reset your device!
Keep your iPad up to date!
• It is essential you keep your iPad software up to date
– You should get a notification when new software is released.
– You can also check Settings -> General -> Software Update
Apple App Store
• Use the App Store to browse, purchase, and download apps designed for iOS
• Your instructors have recommended a variety of apps useful in this program
Also keep your apps up to date!
• The App Store app icon will notify you when you have updates for installed apps
• Within the app store you can view apps with available updates and view changes to the app

Deleting Applications:Tap on the X to delete the application
Opening Applications• Tap the app icon on the home
screen• Press the home button to
return to the home screen
Deleting Applications-•Touch and hold the application icon until it wiggles and an X appears. Tap the X to delete the application• Important: Deleting an
application from iPad also deletes the documents and data created by the application
Search your iPad
• Drag down the middle of any home screen to reveal the search field
• Search for documents, apps, contacts, etc.

Tips and tricks
• Use your camera, to capture whiteboard writings, pictures of work done in class, pictures from the field
• Take a screenshot (press home and power button together)
• Invert screen colours when in direct sunlight (under General -> Accessibility)
