The wine bar is located on the top floor of a 5-star hotel with a magnificent 180o view over the Psalidi coastline. A dominanta and already existing dome divided the area in two – several problems involved positioning the bar due to existing services (drainage system, etc.) The dome was pointed out by making little alterations - a sharp industrial style was chosen and strong contrasting colours were introduced. Plexiglass furniture were combined with custom-made metal structures.

A raised deck floor was chosen for the outdoor space to avoid major piping problems – High bushes and lower pots constituted a “green curtain” to separate other hotel activities.

The neoclassical building was originally built in 1923. In 2010, it was transformed into an everyday meeting point : a friendly bar – café- restaurant. The idea was to preserve its neoclassical character and at the same time manage to upgrade it in a modern building.

Kukutsi Sushi Bar (1) Pelekas, Island of Corfu Size 110 sq.m. Owner Aquis Hotels & Resorts Year 2008

The sushi bar is located in a 5-star resort hotel outside the Pelekas, in the island of Corfu. A combination of traditional japanese structures and modern elements brings the past and present in a dialectical relationship. Rectangular geometry and tatami-like elements are combined, whereas most of the furniture is custom-made.

The sushi bar is located in a 4-star resort hotel outside the village of Pelekas, in the island of Corfu. Strong colours and special lighting effects aim to provide a scenic atmosphere. The sushi-bar is placed in the very centre and furniture is arranged to face the seaside view.

The sushi bar is located in a 4-star resort hotel outside the village of Argyrades, in the island of Corfu. The concept was based on a box-in-a-box idea, since the bar had to be placed near the hotel’s main restaurant, in a large space. A wooden frame was built and space was defined mainly by a series of hanging fabrics. The floor was raised ; a metal structure covered by dark wooden planks. Lighting was carefully planned and a series of special features aimed to constitute semantic references to traditional japanese architecture.

Vertigo is a modern Bar-Café-Restaurant located in Drosia, a suburb of Athens. Since the building already existed and the surrounding space was “compartmentalised”, the landscape design aimed on bringing all parts together and easily leading the customer from one place to another. Water element was a key design feature - a monumental entrance and a flight of stairs over cascading water leads to a series of fountains.

The existing building was initially designed as a clothes-shop. A series of transformations and adaptations had to be made in order to present a friendly and cosy atmosphere. The idea was to use space not as a commercial place, but rather as a large country house. Ouzo bottles and numerous lighting bulbs are a striking interior design element.
