Photograph by Jon Rossi Studios SCANLON - NELSON Among the setting of natural trees and flowers , Miss Pamela Lynn Nelson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs . Robert C. Nelson of North First Street , Bethpage , became the bride of Roger A. Scanlon , son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Orobello of South Howells Point Road , Bellport on August 17 at 4 p.m. at the home of the groom 's parents. The Rev. James Taylor officiated at the ceremony. The bride who was given in marriage by her father wore a white mericaine jersey gown with a V neckline and a flounce collar. The long sleeves and the hemline of the skirt were trimmed with a ruffled edge . She wore a large picture hat trimmed with fern and a flower. She carried a cascade of white caliopsis orchids , stephanotis and yellow and melon mini carnations, with fern. The maid-of-honor was Miss Jane Jaurequi of Bethpage . The bridesmaids were Miss Helene Pomeroy of Roscoe , N.Y., Miss Sharon Gelfand of Plainview , and Mrs. Deborah Miller of Elwood. The flower girl was Miss Lorraince Pomeroy of Roscoe , N.Y. The ring bearer was P.J. Pomeroy of Roscoe , N.Y. The best man was Louis Gigi of Merrick. The ushers were David Klein of Baldwin , Daniel Boikess of Levittown and Rusty Pomeroy of Roscoe, N.Y. Following the garden ceremony a reception was held with Joel Sands Orchestra providing the music . After a cross country trip the couple are residing in Dellport. The bride is a graduate of Bethpage High School and Nassau Community College . The groom is a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School , Nassau Community College and Delhi Tech. BARBANELL - O'PREY Miss Margaret O'Prey, daughter of Mrs Elizabeth O'Prey of Hunting ton and the late David O'Prey, was uni ted in marriage with James Barbanell , son of Mrs. Blanche Barbanell of 5 Chapel Avenue , Brookhaven , and the late Louis Barbanell , on Saturday evening at the Patchogue Village Hall. Patchogue Village Justice Philip Rogers officiated at the ceremony. Serving as matron-of-honor for the bride was Mrs. Mary Wagenhausen of Greenlawn , sister of the bride. The two best men were Murray Fink of Brookhaven , brother-in- law of the groom , and Alexander Barbanell of Scottsdale , Arizona , the groom ' s brother . Following the wedding ceremony a reception was held at the hom e of a sister of the bride , Mrs . Arnold Stilwell of Greenlawn. The couple will now make their home in Hauppauge . . The bride is a graduate of Huntington High School and is in charge of the legal department at The Long Islander , a weekly newspaper in Huntington . The groom is a graduate of Bellpor t High School and formerly a resident of Brookhaven and Patchogue. He was employed as a newsman at The Advance from 1969 to 1973 and is presently employed as sports editor of The Long Islander . Mr. and Mrs. Abraham R. Kleinman of Pa tchogue announce the engagement of their daughter , Karen , to Jerry Feldman , son of Mr. and Mrs. Mickey Feldman of Middle Village. Miss Kleinman is a graduate of Patchogue High School and a graduate of the State University College at Cortland , New York She is presently employed as a teacher in the South Ocean Avenue Jr. High School . Mr. Feldman is a graduate of Queens College and is employed as a teacher in the New York City School System . A December wedding is planned. GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY Mr. and Mrs . Pat McGregor , formerly of 219 Medford Avenue , Medford , now of Rahway, N.J., celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary on Sept. 8 with a surprise anniversary party given by their son-in-law and daughter; Mr. and Mrs. James Fisrhetti at Christine Lee 's Gaslight Restaurant in Elizabeth , N.J. Among those presen t were their best man , Carl Sandomenico and his wife Margaret of Patchogue, and their matron-of- honor , Margaret Kattau Stolworthy of Austin Street , Patchogue. Mr. and Mrs. McGregor were married by Monsignor Cronin in St. Francis de Sales R.C. Church in Patchogue. "SPRIGS" TO MEET The monthl y meeting of "Sprigs " will be held in the staff room at the Brookhaven Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, Oct. 22 , at 1:30 p.m with Mrs Marie Smith presiding SOLEMN MOMENT for Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Wayte Jr., following their wedding August 24 at Christ Episcopal Church in Bellport. The bride if the former Miss Barbara Newton . WAYTE - NEWTON Christ Episcopal Church in Bellport was the setting for the August 24 wedding of Miss Barbara Newton , daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Newton of 366 South Country Road , East Patchogue , and Robert E. Wayte Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Wayte Sr., of 29 North Brewster Lane , Bellport. The ceremony was performed by Father Herber t Thompson . Escor ted to the altar by her father , the bride wore a gown of white satin accented with a pink ribbon and flowing to a chapel length train. She carried a bouquet of pink roses , baby ' s breath and stephanotis. The bride chose as her matron of honor Mrs . Tina Suydam of East Patchogue. Miss Gale Newton of Denville , N.J. ; and Miss Cindy Chester of East Patchogue were bridesmaids. Miss Tracy Creasy of Shirley was junior bridesmaid and Miss Michele Mistier of Brookhaven was flower girl. Best man was Danny Bianchi of Bellport. Perry Wayte , brother of the groom, and John Newton , brother of the bride , served as ushers. Scott Wayte of Bellport and Mark Suydam of East Patchogue were chosen as junior ushers. Peter DiDio of Bellpor t was ring bearer . A cocktail hour and ga rden reception followed the wedding ceremony at the home of the bride ' s parents. After a wedding trip to Montauk , the couple will make their home in East Patchogue. The bride and groom are both graduates of Bellport High School. The bride is employed as a licensed practical nurse at Oak Hollow Nursing Center , Middle Island . The groom is employed by Suffolk County, Yaphank , in general services. BRIDAL PORTRAIT of Mrs. Joseph Vernon who was married Sept. 28 at St. Mary of the Isle R.C. Church in Long Beach. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Lynn Bowen of Valley Stream. The parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Walter Vernon of Blue Point.
