This unit of competency requires the knowledge, skills and attitude to apply mathematical method such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to measure and find out dimension of object in the workplace.

1.1. Numerical numbers from 0 to 9 in Bangla and English is recognized. 1.2. Arrangement in ascending and descending order of numbers in English and Bangla is demonstrated. 1.3. Reading and writing of numerical numbers in Bangla and English are demonstrated.

2. Use mathematical methods.

2.1. Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division are applied. 2.2. Addition of numbers is carried out. 2.3. Subtraction of numbers from other numbers is demonstrated. 2.4. Multiplication of numbers with other numbers is demonstrated. 2.5. Division of numbers by other numbers is carried out. 2.3. Accredited providers assessing against this unit of competency must meet the quality assurance requirement set by BTEB.

This unit of competency requires the knowledge, skills and attitude to apply Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) practice in the workplace.



1. Follow occupation safety and health environment at workplace.

1.1. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used. 1.2. Hazards at workplace explained. 1.3. Unsafe tools at workplace are listed. 1.4. Flammable materials are recognized. 1.5. Access and storable materials are preserved in designated place. 1.6. OSH materials, resources and equipment are used safely according to specifications, legislation and standard operating procedures.

2. Perform work in safe condition.

2.1. Safe OSH practices are performed. 2.2. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) are used. 2.3. Safety signs, symbols and banners are displayed. 2.4. Location of the fire fighters is identified. 2.5. Clear and free emergency exit passage maintained.

Unit Descriptor This unit of competency requires the knowledge, skills and attitudes to perform tie-dye batik printing in the work place.


1. Use tools, equipments and materials for tie-dye batik printing.

1.1 Tools, Equipment and materials are selected for perform tie-dye batik printing. 1.2 Required materials for planned tie-dye batik printing are used. 1.3 Safe material use are demonstrated.

2. Remove sticky material from

the fabrics.

2.1 Fabrics are sink with water for 1-2 hours.

2.2 Fabrics are picked from the bucket and make it water

free.

2.3 Fabrics are air dried.

3. Tie the cloth by yarn as per

design

3.1 Fabrics and yarns are collected as required.

3.2 Fabrics are tied according to design.

4. Perform Tie-dye batik printing

4.1 PPE is used as per instruction. 4.2 Required chemicals and colours are selected. 4.3 Dyes and chemicals mixed with the boiled water. 4.4 Tied fabrics are sank into dye solution as per required

time

4.5 Tied fabrics are picked up from dye solution and

treated with hot and normal water.

4.6 Tied fabrics are dried.

4.7 Ironing the opposite side of the printed fabrics are performed. 4.8 Printed fabrics are folded for storage.

6. Follow OSH as per regulation 6.1 PPE is used as per instruction. 6.2 Tools, Equipment and Materials are cleaned, maintenance and storage. 6.2 Used and waste materials are disposed to designated place. 6.3 Workplace is cleaned and kept tide. 6.4 Ensured ventilation in the workplace.

and attitudes to perform wax batik printing in the work place.

Elements of Competency Performance Criteria Italicized terms are elaborated in the range of

variables 1. Select tools, equipments and materials for wax batik printing

1.1 Tools, Equipment and materials are selected for perform wax batik printing. 1.2 Use of required materials for specific wax batik Printing are demonstrated.

2. Carry out wax batik

printing.

2.1 Required fabrics are selected and design are drawn. 2.2 Wax and rosin are mixed and melted by heat. 2.3 Molten wax are laid down on the fabric by block/brush according to design. 2.4 Wax painted fabrics are immerged into the normal water for 20 to 30 minutes. 2.5 Different Prussian color is mixed in warm water. 2.6 Mixed dyestuff are poured into the immerge fabric. 2.7 Dried fabrics are treated in worm water. 2.8 Printed fabrics are air dried at least 24 hours.

3. Finish the printed fabrics. 3.1 Ironing the opposite side of the printed fabrics are

performed.

3.2 Printed cloth are folded for storage.

4. Follow OSH as per regulation.

2. Set the table for screen

Printing

2.1 Appropriate size of table for screen printing are selected.

2.2 Table in suitable work place are set. 2.3 Blanket for padding the table are set. 2.4 Fabrics are set properly on the blanket.

3 Carry out Screen printing 3.1. Selected Screen 3.2 Screen and dyestuff are collected as per design. 3.3 Screen on the fabrics are set at desired location. 3.4 Dyestuff are taken by the rubber squeezer and lapped it into the screen. 3.5 Screen is taken off from the fabric. 3.6 Printed fabrics are dried.
