WHY BALOGH?

Founded in 1958 as a pioneer in inductive proximity sensing, BALOGH has used the knowledge of these foundational technologies and extensive application expertise to mature into a Global Leader in Radio Frequency Identification Systems – RFID.

BALOGH’s specific technological and broad application knowledge of RFID affords it a full range of RFID products to fit most any identification need. BALOGH manufactures a myriad of RF technologies. This allows us to pair appropriate technologies to their strength’s while meeting our customer’s needs sans performance sacrifice. Our customers can be assured that they are receiving the “best fit” technology for their unique application.

BALOGH has strategically placed offices around the world and utilizes manufacturing facilities in the United States and Europe, enabling global support of its worldwide customer base.

BALOGH has established an enormous rail RFIDapplication base globally. Most of these applications make use of the famous BALOGH passive (no battery) inductively powered RFID systems.

MOL 81The MOL 81 is a short-range transceiver, specially designed for Accurate Train Location, Detection on crossroads, Passenger Information Systems & Depot Management.Key Characteristics:- 0.8 Meter Range- High Data Transfer Rates For Fast Moving Trains - 300+ km/h- Immune to Ice, Snow, Rain & Other Liquids- RS-422/485/Modbus

OMR 80The OMR 80 identification beacon can be read and controlled by the MOL 81 (adjacent photo) or programmed by the LPP 1712-OMR hand-held.Key Characteristics:- Memory Capacity: 2 Bytes (More Available upon Request)- No Power Supply, No Battery- Can Be Fixed to an Insulated Support or a Metallic Support- Immune to Ice, Snow, Rain & Other Liquids

MOL 81 - OMR 80TGV DIRECTION IDENTIFICATIONThe MOL/OMR railway solution was installed on the TGV to identify each train and calculate the direction of travel.

The MOL/OMR solution was tested on the TGV from April 13th, 2011 to June 30th, 2011. At speeds of 320 km/h, the MOL/OMR worked flawlessly and read data from each beacon six times before it traveled out of each transmission zone. Theoretically, the MOL/OMR solutions will function at speeds in excess of 400 km/h.

The benefit to using a product such as this is that it uses lower frequencies to operate than the train’s local area network (LAN) and communication frequencies, making network interference nonexistent.

ERCP 81The ERCP 81 is a small dialogue device fitted with an 8-pin male circular connector (the enclosure includes the antenna as well). It is intended for communication by inductive transmission with a similar opposing ERCP 81 for a full duplex communication.Key Characteristics:- Less Than 1 Meter Range- 12 Bytes Exchanged per Cycle- Immune to Ice, Snow, Rain & Other Liquids- RS-422

ERES 81The ERES 81 is a small dialogue device fitted with two circular connectors. Based on inductive transmission, it dialogues with a second identical device facing it, wayside/aboard. A second connector (19 pins), brings together the input/output data.Key Characteristics:- Less Than 1 Meter Range- Digital Input/Output Capabilities- Immune to Ice, Snow, Rain & Other Liquids- RS-422

ERCP 81 DIALOGUE SOLUTIONSThe ERCP and ERES dialogue solutions are intelligent host-to-host transceivers used to accurately transfer data and send commands from the train to the wayside systems or from the wayside systems to the train.

The ERES system has been used to send precise digital commands to open and close platform screen doors and to activate switching commands for multiple projects throughout the world.

Because of the technology used to operate the ERCP and the ERES, there is a very well defined area of transmission, eliminating the potential of crosstalk communications.

MOS 200 - OMS 201SIL 4 RATED SOLUTIONThe safety localization reader is both a transceiver and a beacon localization safety system, specially designed for railways applications. The MOS 200 has an integrated antenna and is usually mounted under the carriage. It is used to localize a wayside beacon and to read the data of this beacon as the train is moving above it. Being a SIL 4 rated safetyproduct, the MOS 200 has tremendous accuracy. One of the

many requirements to be rated at SIL 4 involves having a location accuracy of +/- 20 cm. The MOS 200 has a location accuracy of +/- 5 cm, exceeding the rating’s guidelines. This system also has the ability to analyze the direction of train travel using multiple outputs.
