With our Comenius Team, we visitedBalkan Turks Association to learntheir traditional dishes.

This association was founded by a group of Balkans migrants in 1989.

To promote cultural learning, Balkan Turks Cooperation and Culture Association hosts such activities as Hıdrellez (Spring Festival), Day of Ashure, folklore dances to emphasize the need for inter-cultural dialogue and peaceful communication.

Aşure,Noah's Pudding is a Turkish dessert that is made of a mixture consisting of grains, fruits and nuts.

It is served during the first month of the Islamic calendar, Muharrem, on the Tenth of Muharrem, or the Day of Ashure.

Page 7: Balkan bosnak

Traditionally, Ashure is made in large quantities to commemorate the ark's landing and is distributed to friends, relatives, neighbors, colleagues, classmates, etc. without regard to the recipient's religion or belief system as an offering of peace and love.

Visiting a local association and tasting differentflavours were great experience for us. It was a wonderful day and a unique memory.
