Bacon & Co has been established since 1990. PrincipalGlen Bacon has been involved in the local property marketfor almost 35 years. The business was initiallycreated from the Crabtree Lane premisesoffering residential sales, lettings andfinancial services from the one office.

Properties in the Worthing, Lancing andSompting areas were handled fromCrabtree Lane with the LettingDepartment also ‘spreading its wings’to let homes on the coastal stripbetween Southwick and Littlehampton.

Expansion of the business started withthe acquisition of premises in centralLancing at Station Parade – giving thecompany a high profile location opposite therailway station.

January 2003 saw the opening of the first

Glenton Bacon FNAEA MARLA, PrincipalGlen started his career in 1977 with a prominent Lancing based Estate Agent, spending the next 13 years withthree Worthing based agencies, culminating with an Associate Partnership. He set up Bacon & Co in 1990 andis very proud to have overseen the expansion that has taken place in the intervening years. Glen now has over30 years experience in the property industry and is a Fellow of the National Estate Agents Association and aMember of the Association of Residential Lettings Agents.

David Hughes, DirectorDave started his career at the age of 16 as a Trainee Negotiator, progressing to the position of Branch Managerat the age of 21. He then advanced on to Area Manager for two corporate companies in the South East, basedin Worthing, and was responsible for both the Estate Agency and the Financial Services side of the business,having passed the CeMAP exams in 2001. Dave then joined Bacon & Co in 2003, and was instrumental in settingup the Worthing offices, becoming a Director in 2005.

Wayne Kenward FNAEA, DirectorWayne started his career in Estate Agency by joining a Brighton based firm in 1978, moving to a leadingWorthing Estate Agent where he was promoted to the position of Branch Manager. He then later became aBranch Director for a corporate chain. Wayne joined Bacon & Co in 1996 becoming a Director in 2003. Withover 30 years experience in the industry, Wayne is also a Fellow of the National Estate Agents Association.

Hayley Scammell MARLA, DirectorHayley started her career in Estate Agency in 1985 joining Glen Bacon in 1990 when Bacon & Co opened theirfirst office in Crabtree Lane, Lancing. In 1991 Hayley introduced Lettings to the business and has worked harddeveloping this side of the company, becoming a Director of Bacon & Co Lettings Ltd in 2004. She is a Memberof the Association of Residential Lettings Agents.

The directors

The history Worthing office at Downlands Parade – a highly visible outlet,and the first agency to be found by visitors to the towntravelling in from East Sussex. The launch of Downlands

Parade was swiftly followed bya second Worthing officegiving clients greaterexposure of their homes to

potential purchasers.

Growth in the lettingdepartment, run by

Director Hayley Scammell,saw the transfer of this part

of the business to its own premises in Lancing in2004. The lettings department has a reputation for

high levels of client care which has seencontinued growth and prosperity.

Early 2005 saw the acquisition of Two MichaelVickers & Co offices in Broadwater and Worthing

Town Centre, with our most recent office being openedin Goring/West Worthing in 2009. This has created unrivalledcoverage within the town.
