Activities You can achieve!

Stamford gives students

the opportunity to shine

and participate in various

competitions showcasing

their talents.

Faculty of Liberal Arts student,

Ms. Pattaramon Plinsut, participated in a

KIZUNA Youth-Exchange Project with

Asia-Oceania and North America.

She earned the opportunity to participate in

a 6-month “Study Program and Field Work

Program: Human Resource Development

for Peace-building and Reconstruction

after the Great East Japan Earthquake and

Industrial Restoration in Hiroshima Prefecture,”

giving her real-world, international experience.

A 2nd year student from the Liberal

Arts Faculty, Ms. Sukanda Watnamaom,

won the Princess Ubolratana Rajakanya

Sirivadhana Bbarnavadi Cup

on the 17th of November, 2012.

She took the top prize in the Thai folk song

competition called,

“UMT Award 2012 Singing Contest.”

Employers constantly tell us that poise

and confidence are essential

attributes for success,

which she demonstrated beautifully.

The Bachelor of Arts Program

develops students with career

skills through participation in

various activities, which allow

them to gain real, practical

experience, and show off their

skills and capabilities.

Page 15: Bachelor of Arts in Communication

Communication Arts students,

Ms. Natcha Tuwichien,

Ms. Patchareeya Tuwichien,

and Ms. Papimon Thongkam,

from the Faculty of Liberal Arts,

joined the Singha Sang San TV 7

Project.

The team, “I Style,” qualified for

the final 16th round and received an

award for their project.

They went on to join the Kantana

Production Camp from August 16-18,

2012. The students gained teamwork

and communication experience that

was tested in a national arena.

Stamford students participated in “The 8th European Union

Thailand National Inter-Varsity Debate Championship 2012”.

All six students,

Ms. Hataichanok Chantaluksuk; Ms. Lecticia Munguambe;

Mr. Thawonsiri ThaweePira; Mr. Fernando Parrella;

Mr. Gerald Uwalaka; Ms. Alexandra Rose

were recognized for their performance. The competition

provided valuable experience to demonstrate their job-ready

English language, debate, rules of conduct, presentation

and body language skills and techniques.

Creative Writing students in

Mr. Declan O’Sullivan class had

stories published on a New Asian

Writing website: Online Asian

Literary Community, which

publishes stories written by

people of any nationality, as long

as the stories include an Asia

theme. This students’ success

was a huge achievement, as the

ability to clearly communicate

in writing is one of the most

important skills one can possess

in today’s globalized world.

Stamford 1st year students,

Mr.Teejuta Prasatkeaw and Ms.

Supitsara Chompoosri, supported by

Dean of Faculty of Arts in

Communication, Ms. Veerawan,

competed in the semi-final round of

the 13th Higher Education Oratorical

Speech in Thai Language Contest 2012

organized by the Chulalongkorn

University Alumni Association.

The contest provided invaluable

real-world public speaking experience

and students benefited from the

judge’s constructive advice on how to

improve their public speaking skills

deemed an essential attribute for

successful future careers.

I have decided to come to Thailand

because I’m looking for new challenges

and I love the Thai culture, Stamford

International University is my choice

of University because it is not too

big and the environment here is very

friendly and supportive. I like studying

Introduction to Communication Arts

subject because it provided me a

strong foundation in Communication

Arts. I am inspired to work for media

relating to sports in the future.

Mr. Shayan Soltani,Student, Sweden

I am so impressed with the learning

environment and the program here

you learn so much while enjoying

what you do best. In the years I spent

at Stamford, I had invaluable experiences

making friends in my classes from

France, England, Australia and

Madagascar. It’s like WOW! In the

Communication Arts program, I enjoy

learning about Photography, Film as

well as Public Speaking. Everything

I learn here, from the classrooms

or my internship program, it’s all so

useful for my future career.

Ms. Joyze, Student Communication Arts

English is so important today. This

is one of the reasons I choose to join

Stamford. Then, once I began studying

here I came to love it a lot - I love the

supportive environment, the friendship,

the lecturers’ continuous support.

I learned to develop more confidence

speaking English and contributing to

class discussions, which helped to

further develop my personal skills.

This is so important no matter what

kind of career you might end up with

in the future.

Ms. Keaw, Student Communication Arts

I actually just joined Stamford as

a Communication Arts student. At

first, I was nervous about the English

test, nervous about the new

environment and so many other

things as a new student…but it’s

not as difficult as I thought! Here,

with the smaller class sizes you

get participation as well as support

from your lecturers and classmates.

I strongly believe that Stamford can

provide me with a good basis for

further continuing my studies in an

international program aboard.
