PORTFOLIO GUIDELINES Interview Your interview is your opportunity to present yourself and discuss your work with a member of the course team. We are not trying to test you or to give you difficult questions to answer. We hope that you will enjoy this chance to show and talk about the best of your work, to see the work of other students on the course, to meet with members of the course team and to see the environment in which you will be studying. We aim for this to be an informal and informative experience. When you arrive at the AUB you will be met by a member of the course team and taken to the Interior Architecture and Design studio. There will be a presentation about the course in general and a more specific presentation given by the First Year Leader about what you will be doing on the course. After an opportunity to ask questions, you will then leave your portfolios with the Course Leader whilst you are taken on a campus tour, in which you will see the areas and facilities that will enhance your learning on the Interior Architecture and Design course. On your return to the studio you will have an individual interview where you will be asked to talk about your portfolio and what interested you about the work that you have included. Whilst your interview is taking place, the other interviewees will be looking at a range of student work from the course and be given the opportunity to discuss it with a member of the course team. At the end of your interview you are free to make your way home or you are welcome to stay with us to discuss the course with your colleagues. We hope that the interview process will be an enjoyable and informative introduction to your learning experience on the Interior Architecture and Design course.

Portfolio Your portfolio should contain work that you are enthusiastic about, that you want to show us – work that inspires and excites you; bearing this in mind you only need to bring three or four projects that you wish to present. If you want to talk about large items or models then please bring photographs of these and not the items themselves – please do not bring any originals that may get damaged. Your work should demonstrate an enthusiasm for the course that you will be studying and can be in any medium. A sketch book always provides a good insight into your work as does any work that has been done in your own time. If you wish to bring your portfolio in a digital format then we can look at your work on the studio computers but we would suggest that you save your work in pdf format to ensure that it is compatible with the course software. Electronic Portfolio If you are unable to attend interview Admissions will request a link to an online portfolio. Please do not submit a portfolio until you have this request which will give details of how to submit to admissions. We will require a digital portfolio of approximately 20 images – please use the above guidelines to help you prepare.
