Aztec religion belong to the Mesoamerican religion.

Basic human sacrifices.

They were polytheistic, believe in many god and goddess.

Powerful Religion

Each god had its name and function

They had agricultural gods

They offer gods with their lives

Their destiny depends on gods’ will.

Aztec Mythology

Main gods were Huitzilopochtli, Tlaloc, and Tezcatlipoca.

Temples were on top of the

pyramids.

They had a pantheon.

Religion was very important They used it everyday It was into their daily practices, beliefs,

ceremonies and dress. Aztec rulers considered in nature and

will Aztec gods.

Gods and Goddesses Chalchiuhlici one of the important goddesses. Chantico was the goddess of fire. Tonatiuh was the god of the sun. Coatlicue or Teteoinan gave birth to the

moon and stars.

Chicomecoat goddess of food and produce.

She is known with three things 1- young girl carrying flowers 2- lady who brings death Mother uses the sun as a guard
