We will be reminiscing about school days with our residents as we listen to them share their memories of those dear old golden school days. We will be recognizing all of our residents and associates whom have been teachers in their lifetimes, during a special caring and sharing hour as part of our Friday community social during Assisted Living Week. And as part of our ongoing community outreach program here at Cedar Dell, we are collecting school supplies to donate to a local school in need. It is our hope to provide some supplies to those who may have circumstances that would not enable them to have them otherwise. You can plan to drop off your donations at the front desk of our community starting September 1st. Supplies to consider donating would be paper, notebooks, pens, pencils, crayons, markers, erasers, rulers, scissors, pencil cases, backpacks, luch boxes, etc. Our reflections community will be dropping off all donations on Wednesday, September 26th as part of their resident outing that day. We are thrilled to have Penny Simoes join our Management Team as Resident Care Director. She is a RN with 17 years experience. She has worked in long term care, hospice, and emergency nursing. Penny enjoys helping others not only with medical concerns but with all aspects of life, and is dedicated to doing it with a smile. National Assisted Living Week has been being celebrated across the country since 1995 and provides a unique opportunity for residents, their loved ones, associates, volunteers and the surrounding communities to recognize the role assisted living communities have in caring for America’s seniors and individuals with disabilities. This years theme is “Capture the Moment” which hopes to inspire residents to realize their dreams and seize the day. Simultaneously, the theme also supports reflection, as residents may look back on the pivotal moments in their lives. All of us at Cedar Dell are excited to celebrate with all whom we serve with a wonderful variety of activities and special events throughout the week. We will kick off the week on Grandparents Day, Sunday September 9th. Families we hope you will plan to join your loved ones for a visit during our Lunch Buffet and plan to have a drawing done by caricature artist Ed Smith to capture the moment. For Caregivers and Volunteers we will be hosting a delicious Coffee Bar on Tuesday September 11th in an effort to recognize those who serve the residents of our community. We will be set up at the front entrance in an effort to be the first stop during their visit that day. On Wednesday September 12th we will be serving up a time honored Clamboil luncheon for our residents and associates. On Thursday September 13th we will be hosting a community dinner for residents and their families followed by music entertainment with Broadway Singer James Michael. Finally on Friday we will conclude the week with a Community Ice Cream Sundae Social with music and entertainment by Gary Duquet. This will be open to the public and a fun afternoon of reminiscing with photographs and albums and other memorabilia that will be on display throughout the common areas of our residence. We hope you will check our calendar within and mark the dates and times for all the programs and events you wish to attend. Please be sure to make your reservations with our front desk receptionist for any guests you are planning to invite to the different events during the week to assist with planning purposes. Welcome To The Team

THE RESIDENCE AT CEDAR DELL

Assoc i a t e s

SEPTEMBER 2 0 1 8

This month we felt it fitting to consider all

that is involved with going back to school.

We will be reminiscing about school days

with our residents as we listen to them

share their memories of those dear old

golden school days. We will be recognizing

all of our residents and associates whom

have been teachers in their lifetimes, during

a special caring and sharing hour as part of

our Friday community social during Assisted Living Week.

And as part of our ongoing community outreach program here at Cedar Dell, we are

collecting school supplies to donate to a local school in need. It is our hope to provide some

supplies to those who may have circumstances that would not enable them to have them

otherwise.

You can plan to drop off your donations at the front desk of our community starting

September 1st. Supplies to consider donating would be paper, notebooks, pens, pencils,

crayons, markers, erasers, rulers, scissors, pencil cases, backpacks, luch boxes, etc.

Our reflections community will be dropping off all donations on Wednesday, September

26th as part of their resident outing that day.

We are thrilled to have Penny Simoes join

our Management Team as Resident Care

Director. She is a RN with 17 years

experience. She has worked in long term

care, hospice, and emergency nursing.

Penny enjoys helping others not only with

medical concerns but with all aspects of life,

and is dedicated to doing it with a smile.
