This month we have an 11-day Buffalo Cider Festival, and we continue the Summer Proms celebrating local talent with special guest curators, single launches, album playbacks, label showcases and collaborations.

Aug also brings hometown heroes to Buffalo unearthing some great local superstars curating and DJing throughout the month.

LOvE IS DARKNESS, BABY! (GET USED TO IT!) is a story of sex, drugs, death and celluloid. The play takes the form of a question & answer session that quickly descends into a darkly comic game of whodunnit.

The production crew of ‘The Final Mistake’ are hiding a terrible secret – and they’re not hiding it very well. Gun-running in El Salvador, human slave trafficking, prescription drug abuse, racist sitcoms, widespread environmental destruction and sexual excess to the nth degree are just some of the crimes these men are guilty of. But it is the mysterious disappearance of the beautiful teenage actress Fleur Devilleneuve that they are most keen to hide.

JOHN FARAH is a Toronto-based composer, pianist, electronic musician and visual artist. Simultaneously using piano, synthesizer, computer, and at times harpsichord, his solo performances exist somewhere between the concert hall and an experimental DJ set at a dance club, mixing forays into free improvisation, jazz, electro-acoustics, middle-Eastern modes, and ambient minimalism with genres of electronica such as drum’n’bass and techno. He has also presented many of his own compositions both for solo piano as well as string quartet, percussion groups, wind ensembles and electronic arrangements.
