DESCRIPTION
In simple terms, augmented reality (AR) is a live camera view of the physicalenvironment augmented with computer-generated elements that provideadditional information or experiences. Its application potential is vast: gamingand other forms of entertainment, medicine, translation, location/travelassistance and commerce, to name just a few. Probably the most familiar exampleof augmented reality, at least to American sports fans, is the computer-generatedfirst-down line imposed over the real-live action in football broadcasts. For marketing purposes, it can be the best of both worlds—offering the realworldadvantages of touch, sight, sound, smell and taste with additionalinteractive digital enhancements. AR can be used to provide consumers withthe latest deals and up-to-date information, enhanced product demonstrations,a view beneath the surface of an image or product, an interactive social mediaexperience and more.TRANSCRIPT

Augmented RealityWith augmented reality (AR), you can use your smartphone or tablet’s camera to ‘see’ a layer of digital information on top of the physical environment. AR offers digital enhancements to the real-world senses of touch, sight, sound, smell and taste.
When people touch or interact with a product, they establish anemotional bond with it which makes them more likely to buy it.
