Jess Downard’s Feedback Form

Page 3: Audience Feedback

The first feedback from we received was from a 16 year old student, Jess Downard. We also filmed her reaction to get more in depth, impacting analysis. When we went over her feedback form, we realised that she liked the makeup that we used on the actors and the music aspect that we added to our thriller. She also said that she thought the wind sound effect that we added to the beach scene was really impacting and really gave her the ‘shivers’. The form showed us that she also liked the use of black and white in the flashback scenes and the camera shots used in the Train Station scene. The feedback that we got about the credits were really good as she said that the font and effect we used made them look ghostly and it helped them really fit in with the theme of our thriller. Jess only wrote one thing in the dislikes box because she didn’t really think their were any faults. The only thing she said that she didn’t enjoy were that some of the shots were quite long and could have been cut to make them feel more impacting. The only thing Jess said that we could improve on is that we could have made the shots that were quite long into two shorter shots to make the film more rapid and to quicken the pace of our thriller. The feedback that we gained from this really helped us because we now know what to change about our thriller and what will make it better.

Amy Rashbrook’s Feedback Form

The next feedback form we received was from another 16 year old female called Amy Rashbrook. We decided to use 3 people from this age group because it is the group that we aimed our thriller at. We also filmed her reaction to get a more impacting analysis. We noticed that some of the things that Amy said were the same as Jess’s answers. The elements that Amy likes about our film were that the transitions were effective and flowing, the black and white looks really good because it creates a contrast between the real life scenes e.g. the beach and the flashback scenes e.g. the forest. Amy also said she likes the editing throughout the whole thriller video because it was really rapid and flowed continuously.Amy didn’t leave us any bad feedback because she explained that she didn’t feel like there was anything that was really bad and that effected our thriller in a bad way.On the other hand, she did give us some constructive criticism. She added to the feedback for that she thought that the music could have lasted a bit longer when it came to the forest scene. We have taken this into account as a group and all agreed that we needed to change this particular element of the thriller.

Mr Sheriff’s Feedback Form

Page 7: Audience Feedback

The last feedback form we received was from a middle aged man, Mr Sheriff. As he is a media teacher himself, we thought that it would be good to get some feedback off of him because he knows what is good and what is bad. He also knows the ins and outs of the film industry so he could tell us what really works well and what is causing us a major problem. The first piece of knowledge he gave us was that he liked the cinematography that we used. He also said that the location that we used were good because they set the right atmosphere for a thriller video. He liked the fact that we created the correct mood to help establish our thriller video. Some of the things that he didn’t like were the sharpness of our editing skills. The effects that we used caused the editing to judder a bit so he advised us that we changed some of the speed of some of the shots and it would sort it all out. The ways that Mr Sheriff told us to improve were to put the title of the film at the end of the opening and he thought that we should put the names of the people starring in our thriller all together at the beginning instead of in the separate scenes. He also thought that we should put the production company name and the ‘presents’ credit separate to create more of an atmosphere. This feedback really helped us because it was from a media point of view and it really helped us to improve our thriller. The changes that we made really made our thriller more impacting and fitted into the convention of a thriller more.
